I am going to be honost, I hate playing at the Casino's those guys there are sharks, and I am an open book, like putting a gold fish in a Parahna tank, I don't have a chance and when I get a hand they know when to fold. I bet they raise, I call they re-raise, to hell with those Casino Poker Sharks. I am going to stick to playing online, if the sharks start swarming or loiking to feast, I can easily go to another room, or another site, I dont have to sit there and let them eat me alive, bite after bite.

I can click and move to a pond where the liittle fishes like myself swim.

I almost wanted to just go all in every hand to see if they would call and I perhaps I get lucky, that is one of my donk moves to slow the sharks down. I just can't handle the tells and nuances that those player have, they are people readers.

I mean , I wouldn't end all Casino play unless of course your local casino is completely small and the same people are there every day. If its large enough to have multiple tables , Id just ask for a table change button. You can't get discouraged because people are felting you. Look at your style of play or style of betting. Maybe you are consistently playing the same way when you have good cards and there's no variance. I'd feast on a guy to if he ONLY bets Super Premium hands which come every 40 hands.

One of the greatest pieces of wisdom in life is: "know thyself". Kudos to you for knowing your weaknesses. That saves you money. AND, it gives you something to work on. Maybe host some home games or go to home games and try to work on concealing your tells and working on your poker face. Casino poker is fun....when you're ready.

Hello
I play in casino live and I don’t have any problem as long as you play good.

If you play in a certain way it’s easy to know your style of play.

You have to play tight and mix with a few loose hands.

In fact you will learn about other players and you can read them better.

Try it again

Good luck

this going to happen, it's how the pros dominate rec players. whenever i go to a casino, i'll sit at the table and either wait a few orbits before i buy in if there's not a waiting list, or fold marginal hands and just observe the table play. if there's ppl that are agro every hand like in your case, simply get up and go to another table if there is one. if there's not, i'll simply go eat or walk around until another table opens up.

The online rooms are some times just as shy, if not more. At the casinos you have to worry about sharks. Online you worry about bots, collusion, and HUDs.

That is so yrue, if I start seeing someone or something following me online and they don't talk, I am blocking them if possible.

I am reporting it also.

Sharks, as part of the poker nature, are not welcome but acceptable;

Bots, as it is out of poker nature, are not acceptable.

Tell me about it, it's like they are in my hand. I might as well turn my cards over and let them see, because that's how they play my hand, they don't even have to look at their cards for real.

That's why I am not playing against sharks...I salute their skills, but not trying to pay their bills.
Its hard to beat casino sharks!

What blinds were you playing? Almost every casino has awful players in the lower limits.

I think it was $1/$3 NLH, but they have done it at the $1/$2 also, but it's only like 2 guys at a time that played that way and it was 7 of us at the table, so I stopped and let them have it. The buy in no matter what is Max $300.

It's always 2 or 3 that are tough.

I think what it is, a group of these guys play together at a table and the casinos even though we have 6 in the area, only 3 have poker rooms and they are small . They are set up for tournaments mostly and the cash games may only have 2 tables going and useually it's only 1.

They can hardly run a $5/$10 table, that's why these sharks hang out at the $1/$3 tables & $1/$2

What blinds were you playing? Almost every casino has awful players in the lower limits.

It's fine to have a preference but never say never. It sounds like you are letting the game get to you emotionally. Everyone is trying to make money. Some players will use more aggression than others. You will not combat this successfully by going all in every hand. That would be a win for them. Think about it. There are 2 or 3 of those guys waiting to call your all in. Eventually one of them will have a big hand and be willing to stack off. When that happens if you're just going all in randomly you will be way behind and need to get lucky to save your stack. You should adjust the other way vs these guys. Only play strong hands when you're in position. That way any time you flop a pair it's a big pair with a good kicker. That way you can call and get to showdown. Once you win a few hands you'll have more room to maneuver with a larger stack. But I agree it's probably best to stay online for now and as your game improves you can try live again later.

Live poker can definitely be intimidating. Takes a few hours of playing at a few different places before you start to get comfortable. Mostly the key is just that, try to get comfortable as quick as possible.

Yes, it's fun akrigal if you got money you don't need.

I can only have fun winning, not loosing, that makes me sad.
playing with sharks is fun i'd say, much more challenging etc

I'd suggest you to play NL10-NL25 online where a field is still relatively soft and you won't stress yourself over losing some money (unlike $300 at once in a casino).

Also, you can even consider blackjack as a casino can have around 2% edge over a long period of time.

Thank you, that's exactly why I say I am not doing live casino poker again unless I am blessed to win a ticket to a live event, that's the only way I will be there. Oh and if they have a $20 buy in or something like that.

No more cash games live the sharks are to big and the piranha bite fast and hard, I am just a trout.

I second this. I would host some “friendly” home games and work on it, if it is something you would like to get better at. Good luck to you!

Sounds like you need to get into the lab, and really learn the game. Unless your happy just playing for fun at the super micro stakes online. If that's the case keep doing your thing. :)

Majority of live $1/$2 players are the same as .01/.02 players online. If you can beat 2nl online, you can beat 200nl live. Honestly, majority of live 200nl players are soft ATMs and basic ABC play will net you a profit.

Could it be that you're too focused on your money, win or lose, and that is what is affecting your game? The fact that you say "it's fun if you got money you don't need." just shows where your head is. Obviously playing outside of your means will affect your decision making at the tables. When you're too worried about losing money, you play soft. Consider building a BR that is strictly for poker and nothing else (no other expenses) and see how well you do when money isn't a factor.

Okay I am trying just that, I am back at the $.01/$.02 level, until I can build a bankroll.

My buddies say they think I have to many open tells for live because I react to everything and wear my heart on a sleeve.

Hey man! Hope your good?

I just wanted to say don’t blow your bankroll, play small so you’re not so worried if you lose your buy in.

I recently lost my $750 bankroll by playing in the high stakes on PokerStarsUK. I’m never doing that again. Knowing my bankroll was on the table made me nervous but I couldn’t drag myself away from it, and I ended up making very poor decisions. My bankroll lasted 30 minutes before I was wiped out.

I have to wait just over 2 weeks before I can make a deposit again, in my 2 weeks off I’m studying hands and reading poker books. this time I’m sticking to 2NL up to 10NL Until I begin making regular profit with each session.

Hope to see you at the tables online sometime and good luck!
