What do you think about fully digital poker tables?

Pros:
- more hands per hour
- no confusion and mistakes
- player knows exactly how many chips are in the pot
- lower rake because casinos don't have to hire croupiers

Cons:
- no real chips ;]

Do you think such tables will one day supplant the current dealer tables?

Personally, I would prefer to play at a regular classic table. It's like reading an electronic and real book. For me, a real book will always be better than an electronic one.

Personally I would prefer real card and chips when I go to the casino.

The problem is poker and the casinos is struggling. They say they don't make enough money. I actually think this is possibility the future. No more dealers pay, no more benefits for the dealers ect = more money for the casino and less likely they take out tables. We would win as we don't need to pay the dealers as well. So I could see this as possible.

One of the issues right now is lack of dealers. This would elimanate that issue. If they don't have tables running why would they worry about getting new dealers if they feel there losing money.

While I hate the idea of gaming going this way look at all the games that have no dealers now in Vegas. If it means keeping this game going in the casinos i would be for this. Again not what I really wnat but if the games just disapear this would be the beter option.

The digital tables have been around for a long time. I think they are best suited for jurisdictions that do not allow physical cards or for venues like cruise ships .

I don't like it. I think that in person or live, the fact that the cards are physically palpable draws more attention, since an algorithm interferes with being digital, like online poker, it lends itself to fewer winning hands depending on your luck.

The idea is very good, but those who doubt the efficiency of randomizing cards will not like it. For me, I think it's a good idea as long as the software is running smoothly and there are no electrical failures:)

If you're willing to get dressed and presentable to go out to a casino/cardroom to play some poker, then why not play w/a real dealer and w/real cards as well? That'd be like getting dressed up to go to the movies and watching it on your phone, imo. Or wearing a condom. I'm married so it's different for me.
Don't get me wrong, I'm for automation but only in certain capacities. At the store, the self-checkouts are cool, as is the drive-thru carwash, atm's, etc. I think I prefer a live dealer though.

I played a few times at a digital table...it was OK because there was still player chatting, stare-downs and poker faces...and I made no mistakes reading my cards, knowing the pot and which players were still in the hand.

Looks cool. Will definitely eliminate dealer problems like incomplete card shuffling, rake computation, etc. Likewise will miss, however, the feel of the cards & chips in the hands. I would play in digital poker tables.
