I have had it happen.. and I have seen it happen quite a bit too.. That is why I always put something on my cards.. usually it happens before action fortunately.. when I"m all in I put my phone or sunglasses on my cards.. that would be the worst time to have them mucked!

card protection 2 steps est nécessaire

The first thing you do when you sit down say "hello" to the dealer or get eye contact and nod. Next, you tip a min chip before you begin. Skip these two steps at your own peril.

Happen to me about two years ago at a Indian casino. Was dealt jj three bet 4 callers flop was 5-2-j off bet the pot and two callers. Turn was a 10 went all in one caller river 6. Now here is problem turned my cards over showed jj the other player threw his cards in the middle of table face down dealer turned them over he had 3-4. Everybody at table said they were mucked dealer cant turn over cards. They ruled that he could. What do you think?

Has happened once to me. Seen it happen to many people over the years. I’ve noticed it often happens when the dealer is disconnect or annoyed, or spending too much time chatting it up with players. Bottomline, not paying attention.

In a cash game sitting in seat 9. I had recently just sat down and was around my 3rd hand. All I remember was I dealt 99 in late position and called an early-position raiser, with several players in the hand. The flop came out X9X and there was a bet before me. I check my hand again and put it down, then I looked up thinking about raise etc.... When I looked down to grab some chips my cards were gone..... Dealer though I mucked when I set my cards down:mad::mad:. I always protect my cards now with a chip.....

It happens, protect your cards. How about this, I've seen seat 5 purposefully muck her cards into seat 9's hand (thus killing both hands) because she (seat 5) was angry about a previous hand with that player (seat 9). Seat 9 screwed up by not protecting his cards. Seat 5 ended up getting a two orbit penalty from the floor (pretty strong penalty) and warned she could be 86'd in the future. Protect your hands!!!

as I see they do not do this for evil .. more inattentiveness of both parties .. and sitting next to the dealer is always a big risk in the live games hehehehe

Thank goodness it never happened to me, I would be really tilted if it ever happened. I think this is the sort of thing that one may think his nerves can endure but the truth is it is far beyond any human being capacity to resist.

Probably, but I don't remember an instance of this.. I do remember once, while playing a live cash game in the States: I was playing $2-5 NLHE and was all-in by the turn of a $1000 or so pot. The river gave the other player a flush and when I saw it, I threw my hand down on the table, face up, out of frustration and may have uttered a bad word.. :) Anyway, my reaction seemed to convince the dealer that I had lost the hand and he started pushing the chips to the other player. Then, I noticed something: I actually had a full house! I shouted at the dealer: "Wait a minute!! I have a full house!!!" Thankfully, he heard me in time and I got my money. Just some friendly advice: always protect your cards and never give them back to the dealer unless you are absolutely 100% sure what you are handing over to them, especially when you are playing for thousands of dollars...

I've been in seat 1 and 9 many times and the dealer sometimes assumes your hand is there to be put in the muck, I've had many close calls but gladly never had it happen. If you have a good dealer they'll tell you to keep your cards closer to the rail and well protect with a card cover or your hand. Just be aware, the dealer is human and will make mistake like everyone. Assumption is the mother of all screw ups. Stay alert and be safe out there.;)

Yup, you will learn, first thing you always do is put a chip on your cards. EVERY TIME.

I always do this, so I haven't had my cards mucked by the dealer yet; it seems kind of like a badge of honor though. After so many hands played, seems like this has happened to almost everyone at least once.

dealer mucking hands

Yes once, in a 1-2 Holdem game I had the winning hand 2 pair When it was time to show cards I flipped the cards over but only one showed when I reached to turn the other card over the dealer grabbed my two cards and mucked them $350.00 pot. Boy I was you know what. I never let that happen again. An expensive lesson learned

The general rule is that if your cards are not over the line then you have not folded, but there are times that the dealer will grab your cards anyways after you have called and throw them into the muck. It happened to me once when I was in the seat next to the dealer. The dealer called for a ruling and the floor manager said that the cards should stay in the muck because I am required to protect my cards. I have a 1922 peace silver dollar that is covered in plastic so the dealer won't misinterpret the coin as a tip. The last time that I played I forgot to bring the card protector, but I thought it would be okay because I was sitting in seat 5 in the middle of the table. I called with K7o in a multiway pot but the dealer reached across the table and mucked my cards. The flop was of course K77.

Man, that sucks huh. It is sad to know that such a thing happens. I will always take a pig iron bar to put on top of my letters from now on. A question remains in the air: was it a mistake or the agile dealer in bad faith? If you acted in bad faith, who was he acting for?

Oh...this happened a while ago. From what I could tell, I would say that she was acting too quickly and it was just an honest mistake on her part. The dealers have a tendency to rush things through to keep the game moving.

Lol I also got to learn the hard way about using a chip or a card protector during my first live session.
