Which are better chips in your opinion. Clay or plastic. It seems obvious but we will see.

i think pure gold is better  but platinum is also ok!
I have a poker set with plastic chips since 15 years, they are quite good. Dont know what are the costs of clay chips are, but if they have nearly same price then buy them ;-).

I have compositional chips at home and they suit me. Remembering, they are already 10 years old (or maybe 15).🙊
In fact, you need to understand how you plan to use them. If you plan to gather regularly with friends, then of course my version of the chips will suit you.

Speaking of clay chips, do you most likely mean ceramic chips? Those fishkt that are used in the casino?
It's really nice to hold such chips in your hands, but, in my opinion, it's unreasonably expensive for home games.

Pure-plastic chips, of course, are the cheapest option, but with frequent use they wear out, although my friend has exactly such chips and they look pretty good, but she takes out her set only a few times a year, that is, not very often.

The compositional version is also plastic chips, but they have an iron weighting and usually use higher quality plastic for them. Such chips will really last you a long time and they have an average price.🙂

I prefer Clay Chips, They might not be as durable as plastic but they have a lot more weight to them, My Daughter once went Christmas shopping in Preston about an Hour away from where we live and bought herself a Chip set, when she got home She said "look dad chips just like yours" She placed the case in my lap and yes they were the same sized case, but before I even opened It I said "they are nothing Like mine" there was no weight to the case and I could tell they were cheap plastic Knockoffs.
Regardless I said they would still work for a home game but I would stick with my own set. Playing in the Pub weekly and visiting casinos I was accustomed to having something with a little weight in my hands, and when she told me the price she had paid for them, I was right as they cost her less than a Quarter of what I had paid for my set.
I always have comments from friends about how good my chip set was and did have one Stolen in the past, not for the act of cheating but one of my Friends turned up to our weekly game and had one of my Chips as a Card Guard, Set in Epoxy, when I spotted it, I confronted him asking where he got the chip and it suddenly dawned on him where he had got it from, He turned bright red and apologised and said he found it in his pocket and couldn't remember where he got it, but it looked so good he set it in epoxy to use as a Card Guard.
I just said as long as you don't push it in with the rest of your chips when I force you all in, I really don't mind, We laughed about it and still remain Friends.

Clay by a landslide. I love the way that they feel and the way that they sound. :)

Clay chips of Corse , they are more durable than plastic ones and are less likely to wear down or break over time and also easier to create high stacks of chips and do chip tricks plus i love the way that they sound

Although I only play online, I would probably prefer clay chips. They will be more pleasant to the touch, although they will also be more expensive.

I'd say clay, but I don't really mind either. Plastic is also completely fine. :)

I have plastic ones, but I prefer ceramic ones, they are more pleasant to handle, the noise is different and they run easily between the fingers

Personally, I prefer ceramic over clay. I think it's just because of the weight distribution is a little more even. My little set is ceramic and they're awesome. They can cost a little bit more but they're worth it. I think the clay chips get used more for that reason. They seem to be everywhere I play.
