Would you rather have KQ or a pocket pair?

I would prefer a higher pocket pair to KQ but if it is suited it is a coin flip in my opinion. Their are other variables also like position and action before.

it all depends on your position and your chip stack, but if you choose between two options, you would certainly choose a pair because it has a better chance of winning simply based on math, I think many people will choose this option

I totally agree. Pocket pair makes a wonderful set, but it's not without it's risks. I rarely go all in with them pre flop.

It depends how you play them.
KQs is bit behind on preflop with low pairs (excluding 22, 33).
KQo always behind pre.

But depends on action you can play them better then for example 22, 33, 44, 55, 66 later.

I would choose a pair. If you have a high pair like AA or KK, it beats KQ most of the time. With low pairs, like 22, 33, 44, you will flop a three of a kind 1/8th of the time, so, depending on the board, you can be confident you have a great hand. If you have KQ, you could easily be up against AQ.

This question is so general that it cannot be answered sensibly.

It all depends on game type (tournament/cash/sng/heads up)
if (tournament/sng) than depents on gameplay phase (early/mid/late/final table)

then it depends on the position, how many people entered before you, whether they raised or limped, reraised etc.
than it depends on opponent type (tight/loose) and (passive/aggressive)
than it depends on your stack and opponents stacks.

BTW, I don't really care what hand is pre-flop as long as it's playable. And i think that all the action usually happens after the flop
I would like to represent the style of a loose/aggressive player and I really love playing after the flop. Preflop phase is boring

It is difficult to say. Logically, a pair should be a better option, but only if the pair is above average. If the pair is below average, I would probably prefer KQ.
