When should I start playing real money and not only freerolls?

Hi guys, so, I learned how to play poker some years ago, but I only started to go deeper and study some strategies about 1 month ago. Since then I've searching for freerolls and earned some tickets from pokerschool, which I played couple of times, and I've also been watching some videos about strategies and making a very detailed read on Theory of Poker from David Sklansky. Right now I have 0,59 cents on pokerstars and 2 0,10 cents SNG tickets. So, my question is, as I dont want to spend away these lil cents I have, when should I start to play games using my money and tickets?

I play for real money and freerolls don't want to miss.Go when your wallet will allow you to lose a certain amount and not notice it...

I would keep grinding the freerolls until I got to about 5 bucks then I would start to grind the small buy in games. Not sure what they got on stars but I am sure you can find some 5 and 10 cent buyin tourneys. As your stack grows then start to move up to a little higher buy in. Rinse and repeat! Good luck on the felts!

my friend! You can play whenever you want! But no matter what you did not play a tournament, your ability to impact! I can only say that his skill you can hone free through freerolls! If finances allow it to play for money! But still it does not say, without knowledge and experience anywhere!

Basic bankroll management is key to long term success.

The pros consider 200 buy-ins to be a "safe" level for standard/turbo tourneys. Hyper turbos you may want more to offset the blind pressure shoving/increase in varience.

Another way to consider building your roll is to take your freeroll winnings to a small .01/.02 table and try to build there, but beware because cash table players are usually better then micro tourney players and freerollers.

I would say keep building a bankroll of lets asay like $50-$100 depending on what you would play with that amount.

Mix it up a bit.
I would continue to play freerolls and also play a smaller buy in tourney.
Not sure if you enjoy cash games but I would stay away from those until you have a decent amount in your roll to play.

It's pointless to play if u dont feel that u are good, wait until u can win some freerols, and maybe u will have a chance on real money

0,59 cents is a really small bank. I would use the tickets because you will have to use them anyways. I would wait till I get 10$ to start playing small sits. Keep playing freerolls because they help to increase your bank

It's all about bankroll management when you play poker. You must have enough money to deal with swings of this game because regardless of how good you are you will definitely see them. Im a firm believer in 16 max buy ins at cash as that's what works for me. So 1/2 cash min 100 max 300 sit down means you should sit with Max and have a $4800 bankroll. Start out on the .02/.05 and work your way up. I good Roll for this level is $300 or 30 max buy ins of $10. See how you do with that and move on up like George and Weezy to .05/.10 with a $600 roll. Mix in some freerolls and sneak in some low MTT Tournaments. I prefer pyramid Sit n go strategy for building a roll which I developed back in the day playing on Ft and PS which worked well for me. Hit me up if you want me to send you some info. Good luck in your journey!

If you're played already for some years on poker , then play for real money if you feel you can do it.
Play your tickets 0.10 , and I suggest to start to play on SNG , and when you will increase a little bit your bankroll is depends of you , then go to micro limits , but remember minimum you need to have 40-50$ to play these tournaments 0.55$ max 2.20 MTT. If you like to risk you can play even with some buxs on your pokerstars account.
Anyway is your decission.
Thanks.

Thanks guys for your replies, I'm sure most of you have already played poker much more than me so I can trust you all. I think I'll play 1 of my 0,10 SNG tickets and see what I can get from it and how good is my poker in this moment. If I get good results I'll study a lil more and play the other one later trying to have even better results. Thank u all

It's good for you to start playing for real money when you have 100 buy ins of the tournaments you plan to play. For example: If you intend to play tournaments of 1.10 you will have to add 110 dollars to start playing them. As for the tickets you must play urgently, as they have expiration date and will beat fast.

Right this question is great.

The answer is that it depends.
ultimately do what you want. If you have a job and are willing to set aside a limit you are comfortable losing / consider it an expense of entertainment and choose your stakes accordingly.

After you study hard and practice in freerolls and practice patience, because at the beginning your anxiety will get in the way.

1.When you win from freeroll, then use what you win to play real money.
2.When you learn how to keep your bankroll in safe is more important than win one hand.

start small, and if the amount is going to affect paying your real life bills, or put a dent in you in any way don't do it.. starting with $20 should be enough to build a roll from micro's.. while still playing free rolls

Better continue playing freerolls to expand your bankroll , it's still very small , while you keep reading articles about strategy and bankrolll management , then , when you feel ready , start playing sngs and limit holdem , later no limit holdem very carefully how much you spend , good luck .
