AA is the only definite. KK is 95% of the time. Other than that, it depends of how many people are in and how loose the play is. The more people and the tighter the play, the closer I get to only playing the absolute juggernaut hands.
That looks like a good all in calling range. However, I would probably sit out or think twice if there were already 3 players in the hand, because you know someone with less than face cards is gonna call the all in and suckout a flush or straight.
AA- to get value or if I have to.
KK- Most any time, rarely if I can tell the other guy has AA can I lay it down but sometimes it is just obvious so I have to.
99-AA- short stacked near end of tournament in money already.
It depends on the player who made the all in and the position he was in and my position and what I think he is all in with and what my cards are. If it is a Tournament or is it a cash game. If Tournament I need to know if we are in the money or how many places most go out before the money? There are a lot of factors to consider for an all in call.
It depends on a number of things my current stack, number of players remaining, the stakes involved, number of players in the current hand. With that being said I’m normally all in with AA,AK,KK and sometimes QQ’s.
unless you play the micros and think you will 80% get a call.
you want to get max value on your aces...and kings...this will only come long term by playing them post flop.
MOSTLY...the only time to go all in with AA cash game is if you are in a potentially multi way pot with 4+ players....you must eliminate down to heads up if you can....
There are of course exceptions....such as your AA 3 bet is 4 bet...and you can put your oppo specifically on kk qq or ak etc....so you will get value from an all in when they call your shove.
these cards are not a panacea, there are options when you need to expand this spectrum on the stack, and it is important to understand whether it is possible to get the maximum profit from the call all-in with marginal hands such as 57s or T8s
I prefer not to go all in until I am short stacked and need to make a move. If that is the case, it depends how many blinds I have. 5 bb is the area for pairs, preferably 10 and up. If I am lower, then I go for AK or AQ. I have been known to go all in with suited connectors if I am about to blind out. It depends on what hands come to you, but unless I am hurting, all in does not enter my mind before a flop.
