I better prefer AT because it looks how then you have more change to win a pot because A is the most powerful card in the game,so you have more % to win.
I feel like it's a trick question so it's hard to answer! i guess A 10 is the better hand so i would go with that. unless the flop is K K Q then i want the KQ!
I have read every opinion of you fellows and I have thought of the question, AT vs KQ? Very logical your answers since many are well founded, however I think that are two strong hands that we all play, or am I wrong?
I think it all depends on the game, my position, and the size of the blinds. If it is a serious game, like a league game, or high stakes tourney and I am not in the blinds and if the blinds are over 200 I fold both of these hands. If it is a freeroll or a small payout tourney I might call the blinds but no more unless I see a flop and catch a piece of it. I am not fond of either of these hands pre-flop!
I prefer AT for the higher card but I am clear that it is more difficult to connect them. In the range of hands it is clear that KQ has a higher percentage of winning. AT definitely more uncomfortable to play but is my favorite.
For my KQ always has more equity than A-10. But in these cases luck plays a fundamental role on the flop.
I only play KQo in position. Out of position maybe open if suited.
