As hard as it is to walk away when you just want to break the losing streak, it is the best thing to do. Find something else you enjoy to find something happy and come back to poker with a better/different mindset.

The most important thing after that is not to play until you calm down, even if it takes a day or two

What do you do when you're having a bad day of grinding, losing with trips, top pair and everything else?
Do they turn off the PC or Analyze what you could have done to avoid losing all your chips and being eliminated?

Follow the advice of Jonathan Little - volume cures variance. And maybe take a bit of a break?

Take a break. I suggest do something un-related to poker then come back when you are refreshed. After getting back, first thing I'd do is analyze my play and see if its really variance or I was really playing bad. after doing those, start grinding again.

Two easy suggestions would be first and the easiest, which is to stop playing and do something else that you enjoy doing.

This is where you need balance in your life and other interests besides poker. It could be another hobby or anything that gets your mind off poker. I enjoy going for a drive and getting food, lol.

If I was grinding in a casino it would be a walk to the car for snacks or a walk though the casino or just a 15-20 min walk away from the people at the table. Sometimes you can play for 4-5 hours at a table, not realizing how fast time flies and before you know its 8-10 hours later without eating and a lot of folks get cranky so that's might irritate folks as well, something to think about.

The next thing you could do is try to correct whatever problem you have that's creating the tilt if you still have the urge to play. One simple thing is to watch an instructional video, read an article or a chapter in a book that reminds you how to play properly.

You could also use a poker simulator like Poker Snowie or Advanced Poker Training to get get you off tilt. If you're playing $1/2 or $1/3 where you have a few hundred dollars in front of you then the 20-30 bucks a month might well be the investment. Then find that level in the simulator that if you don't bring your best game then the sim will crush you and see if you can get your composure back from tilt.

It will wake you up to play your best game or definitely tell you to stop if you can't play well while not risking money.

But the best thing you can do is to continue developing your understanding of the game you're playing and gain experience so that you have a good idea where a hand is going to take you before its even dealt to you.

The point is once you understand whether you made a simple mistake like over betting a hand when you were at best a coin flip or again putting yourself in a situation to play bingo poker against some beginner that plays every hand because they don't know starting hands and the fault is really in your control instead of "Lady Luck" then the game becomes easier and so does dealing with tilt.

If poker is not fun for you and you play a lot, then you should work on yourself. My session usually lasts 6 to 8 hours. If I'm not lucky, I can't afford to stop playing. You should focus on the game and continue. Meditation helped me. Over time, it became easier for me to manage my emotions. 2-3 deep breaths and exhalations and I'm back in the game. Negative thoughts are forgotten.

IMO if you grind Cash games or you don't have more tables open other than the one the bad beat occurred and you can't play your A game anymore for whatever reason(tilt, tiredness...), I recommend to just stop playing and do something else that helps you relax and recharge(if it's still not enough than take a break)... After, try to analyze the hand/-s and see if you could have done something differently to minimize the losses and/-or maybe make your opponent fold his hand on a previous street... Also, in my case, the books "The mental game of poker" by Jared Tendler helped a lot to improve my poker mental game but you can also try to watch different videos about this topic on YouTube for example- you can find for free lots of good advices offered by poker pros on this topic and more(I think Jonathan Little has one of the most informative poker channel on YouTube and for sure you'll improve your game after watching his videos).

If this happens , I turn off my session and I go to gym or for a walk and never play that day.

tilting is not a solution but only brings more problems but i have had it often enough that i lose with no matter which hand. When I see something like that, I usually just stop playing poker for a while, how long is usually very different. I usually try to pay more attention to how and what I play

When I'm at tilting, I finish poker and go for a walk. I'm still not professional enough to control my nerves completely, but at least I manage to finish poker immediately.
When I calm down, I try to analyze my mistakes and notice that I often end up in rounds with quick blinds, where you usually find a lot of gamblers.
That would be the next step, to avoid such rounds.

If I find myself tilting & or whining about my bad luck instead of trying to assess how my play might be impacting my results, or if I am trying to assess my play & I don't find it challenging, interesting & fun, it be break time for me. I mean hell, if I'm going to pay good money just to be miserable, I may as well just get married again.

Thanks for your help!

I'm finding it very difficult to stop these days, a strange thing is Sundays, just insane bads, for most players Sunday is the best day to play, I decided today not to play anything on Sundays
Ok, than wishing you a nice day off! I also find, sundays are my bad beat days. Usually, fridays are better. Don't know why, but that is my personal statistic.
Going for a walk now ;-)
