Im not an expert. I play better in casinos/live poker then I do online. Lately I have been on a winning streak.. could be just new players coming online with Covid-19.. But, I have noticed in my own statistics, im folding more, riding out good hands, and folding completely flops.

Some things I have learned.

1.) You can pick up a weak hand online.. Its all in their bets and their time to call. If they have a good hand, they call instantly (usually).. If they dont, and they take a long time, if they dont come up with some obscure (non x2/x3 1/2 raise on pot), you can tell they are thinking and hesitating. This isnt always true, but something I have noticed.

2.) Play enough hands, and you dont need to think about much of the game anymore. Ive registered 3,441 hands (according to the software). Doesnt include time playing in live games. The rules become 2nd nature, and its not a thought anymore, its just a feeling/conciousness.

3.) I have my moments, after playing for awhile (probably why i cant finish a MTT), I stop caring.. PLay real loose. Example: (A Q Suited), Raised Pre-flop. 3 players called. 2 8 K popped. My chances of a straight are small.. And a A popping small as well. Meanwhile, the 2 people who called me on this flop, more than likely have a K of some kind.. I KNOW i am behind. Im playing catch up. But I check/call to the river. Like an idiot. Even though my gut tells me, The math - long term, says fold. So what if I fold and that one hand on the river pops my A. Long term, you make more money, by folding. Stop playing catch up. If the board doesnt flop your way, its best to duck out. (Could be wrong, but just my experience thus far)

I think I get bored. I dunno.. You sit in a $.50/$1.00 table.. Max buy in is $50. Cash game. You play for 3 hours, and only have $102.00 in chips. I really like it when my first couple bets go south, and im down to say $42 and i have to make it up. I think thats when I play my best. I am focused. Im watching the players with the stupid nicknames. I see how they play. I really pay attention when they show their cards.

4.) Ive become detached. If I fold before the flop, i look at my other monitor and read the news, or do work, or whatever. Too many times I have seen me throw away... J 7, just to see 2 7's pop on flop... ITS RARE... You folded your cards. dont worry about what happens after you fold.

5.) I use to use this strategy, where The house shows 3 3 9 J A ... 3 players involved.
End of round, I get K 10. And I think, well last hand 339JA was shown. either a K or 10 will pop up im sure, and ride it to the hubs rub. lol. NOT TRUE.. the deck is reshuffled programmatically each hand.. Completely random. Dont do that. Dont think that way.

Anywho. Just my thoughts I have noticed

Liked your observations. You mention not always focusing and when you fold you ignore the outcome of table for that particular hand. That is habit forming, and tidbits of information are escaping your notice. Those tidbits of info contain a value that add up to money and success. GOD bless you.

Be careful with no. 1. Player taking time in the tank might mean he's having a weak hand or he just thinking how to milk most of the money from his AA, or he might just doing something totally different on 2nd monitor...

yeah... The best tell I can get, is if they call or raise right away. That at least tells me that individual is at least confident in what he has. Generally

'(probably why i cant finish a MTT), I stop caring.. PLay real loose.' I do the same thing. I do this less and less but it still does happen sometimes. I'm mad at myself after that. lol

This is probably some of the best advice I have seen on here. I have a friend and while he is playing he always says he would have won every hand he folds. He sucks at poker btw, but I always ask how can you even know that when 90% hands don't go to showdown? Yeah you may have folded what would have been a decent hand but that does not mean you would have won unless you would have had the nuts.

I agree with not worrying about what cards come out on the flop if you folded pre-flop. You have to set your range and stick to it and trust your strategy.

Not worrying about what happens after you fold is very good advice.
