Was it freerolls, or did you immediately make a deposit and started playing?
I played freerolls for 3-4 months, earned $ 20 and started playing cach nl2.
I did not make any deposits, I made one, only to bind a credit card.

Well for me it s like my own business and my first money were from freerolls and different promos.I made a bank card and all won money were for cash out and now I can do deposit but only for a nice promo and bonuce.gl but sometimes I am a bankrot in total and freerolls are my everything)

On Pokerstars I made 0-100 with freerolls and some 0.10/360 and some nice deep runs in MTTs like 0.11. Lost them all after some point and I deposited $100 but now I play with this bankroll :P

In ACR I made about 30$ from freerolls and some $1.10 400gtd which I withdraw and I redeposit by using a promo code and now I have $70+.

My history of poker began in 2013 at the PokerStars room. I put $ 11 into the account via webmoney, and on cash games NL10 reached $ 200 in one month, took $ 100, and lost the rest.
Since that time I started to practice strategy and theory of poker, now I'm playing tournaments, and I rarely played cash games and I did not refill my bankroll from the side, I try to replenish playing poker !!!

Earlier in my stupidity, I made several deposits. I really wanted to win without spending any effort (in spin and go tournaments). And of course I lost everything to a penny ... Now slowly I decided on the game: I chose the most suitable variant of poker, I read the theory, I constantly watch other players who play the same limits. I do not invest money in principle, I take overclocking playing freerolls and until I get it)) Another couple of months and I think that I will collect the bankroll I need!

Lately I tried for the first time a 44$ buyin and lost it all. Since then I am calm, I play freerolls and will play again next month in Sunday Storm probably ^^.

For me it has been quite difficult because my connection has been very bad. Also I can not make deposits, so I play freeroll and promos, It has helped me a lot because I say define my game, now I say that I like to play sit & go tournaments. And it has led me to accumulate experience without losing my money.

You have to play on small limits from the Bank. That was enough for at least a few dozen entries on bainum. Although from time to time and larger baini to use, but rarely.

actually trying to build in freerolls, but you need to grind so much. i think its easily deposit and try some micro stakes (but before that i will try restricted freerolls )

I'm still in the process of building a healthy bankroll. I've busted a series of small deposits because I was being reckless and impatient with them. At the moment, I'm trying again with another small deposit and playing micros to hone my style of play and solidify the fundamentals I need to eventually move up in stakes. Thankfully, I'm finally learning my lesson and it feels like it's paying off. I'm only playing about 5% of my roll and taking small shots when I'm playing well enough to take those risks. And on days I can't mentally handle the losses I've sustained, I walk away regardless of whether I've played my allotted amount...otherwise I'll tilt back to zero quite quickly.

I started playing freerolls back on party poker in 2004 and made 2 ft and won 90$ total but wasn't legal age so then when I turned 18 i tried getting it out but they wanted me to make a deposit first so i did of 50$ then turned that into 3200$ playing the monster qualifiers made it to grand finally but they cancled it when the bill was passed in the states in 2006 when they pulled the plug on usa players on party poker my ticket was worth over 10k if the whole thing was going to go ahead but they only gave me 3000 for it and after that i was so bitter about it i decided to move over to pokerstars made 2-3 deposits on there before I played my first sunday million and got second in it for 168k then one year later they pulled the plug on usa players in 2011 on stars and the sunday millions 1.5mil gtd went down to 1mil gtd, you will be missed usa players...

well in my case I had made $550 just from 1 free roll tourney once in 2015 without depositing anything but due to addiction towards online gambling I lost every penny. The poker is just a hobby for me at present so I did not care about the winnings from the free roll and it has been more than a year since my last deposit to my poker account. Though during that time period I have won few tourneys and have made few $$$ but never care about it. Now I am planning to add Bankroll management into my poker dictionary.

A slow freeroll grind is how I make a bankroll.

A few years ago I made about $1k from freerolls but playing low stakes cash games and grinding out the variance was too frustrating and I eventually blew it martingaling on roulette and sports.

The game isn't hard. The hardest part is just showing up with strict bankroll management and controlling emotions.

In the last year it was $1 mln. dollar freeroll on Pokerstars, where I earned about $14, then I lost almost all on the satellites to MTTs. I didn't know about BRM
Now I started playing SNGs and earned few dollars from that. I want to try with fixed limit also.
Now I consider deposit to promote to higher league level.

Well ive just started Aemrican Cards Room, and unlike the rest of poker rooms where i deposited i actually decided this time around to to start my bankroll from freerolls. Since ive started ive place in a freeroll where a one a buck and some. I then went straight to holdem cash games with 0.02 bb and since then im up to 0.10c - 0.25c with a bank roll of $32. My plan is to keep playing this stakes until im over $150 - $200. So for me the free roll and grinding micro cash games have worked for me, you would have to find your strategy and what works best for you. Might be grinding out freerolls and sit n gos.

I build your bankroll brick by brick, stone by stone, penny by penny, dollar for dollar after that make a withdraw and all over again)))

In 3 months I got two small bankrolls on different rooms by playing freerolls with thousands of entrants, I was completely new for the game of poker.

2003 on a friday decided to not go to bar downloaded americas cardroom they had an 8pm freeroll 400 chips starting stack with rebuys add ons i won the thing they had a sportsbetting rule of 3 times winning bet so i i ran it up to 5k and financed my entire poker career some 60 sites ive withdrawn from. I deposited for first time in life this year using bitcoin in january anywhere. I do a mixture of buy ins daily micros right now and freerolls in past have ran as high as 5/10 nl ring feel ive conquered 50/1.00 range online and 2/5 live. Back in day tried to play 10-12 mtts per day spending 10.00 per buy in now im sick a lot and havent made a real push in the last two years even entering big buy ins which I could. I bigger ones had a stroke so wanted to make sure mind was where was in past when at top of game and played 2 years as pro for my liff's needs imho my game is at highest point ever health aint agreeing so you might watch me make a push or you'll see me happily sitting where am and having fun with friends and playing against myself

I played freerolls every day for a while, got in the cardschat freeroll and won $40 from taking second place in that freeroll.

I then continued to play tournament poker and took second in a $10 bounty tournament building my bankroll up to just above two hundred dollars. From there I have been playing more tournies and occasionally some cash games and have been pretty stagnant.

The secret is to win, and almost never lose !! Playing only Freeroll this happens !!

Just try to build my bankroll with freerolls and micro stack games (0.10$ and 0.25$). And sometimes frustrates this me, because it goes so slow. But at the end, I'm proud of what I'm building up!

I started way back in the day. (2005 or so) Bought on at Ultimate Bet, I think, for $25 and lost it quick like. Started reading books and found forums and articles and reloaded for $50. Soon learned of getting rake back, and as a break-even player, started gaining a bankroll. First thing I did was cashout my $50, so I knew everything from then on out was pure winnings on my poker endeavor.

I played non-stop, multi-tabling, in a, lucrative-yet-unsatisfying, very tight pushmonkey style at first. Then I found bonus whoring as I moved into a tight/passive pair of shoes. I know now that I never really learned much theory, as I ground my way up stakes to $1/$2 from the penny tables, on sites such as Party, UB, Stars, FT, and a small start-up site that had 100% rake back, yet few open tables. With relatively little acquired skill, I also became a blogger, teaching the meek how I plied my barely level 2 thinking trade. I made over 10K, until apparently free US players, were kicked out of the online poker industry. FT still has $300 of my bankroll and an online bank duped me by having a $1500 transfer policy, yet let me transfer less than that requirement into my account. So, needless to say, I have $100 rotting in cyberspace.

After a long hiatus, a friend told me a site took US players again. I deposited $50 on BOL and cashed out my deposit and a few hundo, leaving a small $50 bankroll of fish money. It sat there idle while I took 6 months off to write a fantasy novel, although I should have had it procuring money in my bitcoin account. (note: if you have a base portion of your bankroll that you never delve into, as you should with proper safe bankroll management, it would be making you dividends and profit in an acorn or bitcoin account, etc. Why let the sites claim your interest. Hell, they already get your rake. It would still be a part of your bankroll, just in a different spot, and if you needed a portion as you went up stakes or had a bad swing, merely deposit it instantly from one of those accounts. Sorry to get off topic, but if your idle money could be making you money it seems like a positive thing. You don't even need to learn the stock market or money exchange rates, just put it in there.)

With no rake back or bonuses, I realized that it was time for a change and begun studying theory, the maths, hand-reading, style equity, etc. I switched my style to a looser more aggressive game. 27/9.4/3.2. Still tweaking it, but in 30,000 hands I am averaging 13.01 BB/100. Better than I was averaging with tight/passive play.

Anyways, learning my new style was expensive, and I busted for the first time in my career at 2NL and 10NL. Wasn't really my money, but it still hurt. Had to wait till payday to reload, so I played some freerolls and entered a few cash tourneys with VIP points I had accumulated. In 2 days I had amassed $60 from several deep final tables finishes. So I was back in the penny games without reloading. The wife liked that scenario.

I found this forum and it reminded me the old days blogging. I found that ACR takes US players and has a rake back program of 27%. Downloaded and looked around and found they had all kind of incentive programs and active tables at all levels. Reminiscent of Full Tilt. Currently waiting on my money from BOL to reach my bitcoin account. I will keep studying and not just be satisfied with winning the small change the sharks let drop from the full hands. I want to be good, and I want to get back to $1/$2 again without being a nit this time.

If you've been away from the games for a while, I'd recommend that you start out at very small stakes regardless of your bankroll. Play a few thousand hands at each level, making sure that you're confident about your edge. If you get to a level where you aren't confident, play there for a while until you are.

I would recommend 1$ sngs seein as you're a tourney player. Big mistakes a winning tournament player, playing cash games.
