I've done 26 before. It was actually pretty cool. I took this huge stack and was like "yo if I can shuffle this you go all in blind next hand?" and villain was like absolutely, and that was that.

I'm impressed, you must have monster hands to be able to do that, or gobs of practice. Regardless, you have the honor of my 100th post.

Good thing you didn't do that with the way your luck has been running lately. :)

16 is my standard. Then you can cut them into four stacks of four, shuffle them into two, then back to one.

16's my goal

That's where I would like to get to. Mostly so I don't look like a dork counting my chips at the table:eek: (and yes, to intimidate a bit too...)

It is also helping me with general chip handeling at the table, in that I know what 3 or four chips feel like so I can make smoother bets.

I'm hopeless. I keep trying, and all that happens is that I up-end both stacks and send them scattering...:(

It's all in the pinky

I discovered that rolling the end of my pinky in, instead of having it stick out like a lady drinking tea, was the secret for me:)

Just watched the video. I hate his technique of using the middle finger to lift from the front. I use my thumb, which comes over to the further stack to lift. Much easier.

I was showed the same way as the video over a year ago by some dealers - still can't do it lol. Once in a while I can shuffle 5 of the 6 chips - but the bottom left chip never moves.

However I don't tyr often because it is so awkward it hurts my hands and fingers so I always decide that since it hurts there is no point in doing it.

OK, I tried and I just cannot do it. This may be a dumb question, I don't know but......Does having fingernails have anything to do with? Yes, I know everyone has fingernails, you know what I mean.:D

The bottom left chip stays the bottom chip of the new pile, so that's not really something to worry about.

Long nails would make it harder to do, I would think.

One tip: the video shows him shuffling on hard surface, but if you start out on something that is softer or has a bit of padding (like a poker table !) it will be much easier to learn.

Well - but in my case it is not on the bottom of the new pile lol.

lol

I have a feeling that it's like riding a bike, not really comfortable at first and ya make stupid mistakes, but once you get it, it stays with you.

I did cut my nails very short on my shuffeling hand before I got it. I'll let you know if they have to b kept short to shuffel.

I can attest to that. I forgot to latch my chip case when I got some out to practice, and my 2 year-old dumped them out. I was able to shuffle six while picking them up off the carpet. :p

Well, I guess I'll never be a REAL poker player because I don't shuffle my chips. Yes, I know all the "stupid girlie poker player" comments are coming, but I'll admit it.

I don't want to mess up my nails.
