The idea is that the more time you spend playing poker, the more you will improve your ability to make the right decisions, to master your desire to win and to earn serious profits. But I think the breaks between games are also important, they are the ones that help you review certain mistakes in the future, to rest your body and mind, to give you time analyzing different hasty behaviors during the game.
As a general average reported at one month, my time playing poker is around 4-6 hours a day, but sometimes it can be zero hours some days or 10-12 hours some other ones, depending of course on my time and vibe's.

On weekend days, it's definitely more hours on average than during the week.
Depending on the event, it can be around 8 hours, depending on how far I get. Last but not least, it is due to the more attractive events (I mainly play Mtt's), since a larger time investment can often be more profitable in this period.
During the week, it is often difficult to integrate a poker tournament into the daily routine, so often only a little cash game/hyper or freeroll event comes into question.
There I would estimate the number of hours to a maximum of 2-3 hours per day, often less.
