if you are playing a tournament regular ...you have to take some notes ... i mean you could have some players that you played already you should check the list with the registering players ... take a look of your moves in the past tournaments ... so i think those are some normal strategys before something to be played.

Never thought of the warmup before. Not sure how I would go about that. I mean having a good nights sleep can be considered but does he mean playing a few rounds of lower stakes cash game before the tourney to get you in the groove of things? Interesting concept though but I would like to know how the Pro's warm up.

Before I play a long session sng or spin n gos I would warm up by playing either play money or micro stake in the same format as I am going to play.

Got get your eye in and get a level of comfort especially if you haven't played in a couple of days.

I prepare for the tournament like this before the tournament if in the evening I go to the shower and then I cook myself a tea with sandwiches or something sweet to eat before the game, if I play the tournament in the morning or in the day then I just wait for when I start and play!

I make sure I am in the right frame of awareness, generally by sleeping, eating, taking care of other things first and stretching, and then putting on some relaxing poker music.

I don't warm up, i just play. I'm not sure one can warm up in poker. Maybe an idea could be to play a freeroll and see how well you playing that day but then I don't want to waste my time on something I'm not going to finish. If you finish the freeroll you may be too tired to play cash games?

I practiced this for example if I'm going to play expensive tournaments before I go cheap and look at what level today I can play what I want to do and what not.

Preparations for the game have to be psychological, it is very difficult to play is not prepared emotionally, especially for long tournaments

i see there are a lot of drink cofee here. A warm up in poker should prepare u to play an i think is a necesary thing. Before i play i remove all the tv, phone, speaking with other people. U must concentrate at the game. Make a quick review on what ur studying, hands where u have problems and solutions to the problems. Watch a poker video , one u see it before. Listen to some pozitive muzic. In the first 1-15 play just one table, and adjust with tables after those 15 min , one per 5 -10min after. In the first half hour dont play more than 4 tables. Take this table strategy like a part of step by step warm up. Aditionaly u cann wash your face with cold water. I dont drink when i play poker .

In simple terms Jarred says this:
In any sport e.g. football, golf, ... players had to prepare for game. They do warm-up exercises, formulate strategy and prepare themselves to play the best possible level.
Poker is a sport game so you should prepare before game too.

I had listened to this book on audible and never thought about it before. Now I will typically read a couple hands out of Harrington on Holdem Vol 3 and run through some reminders to myself as I drive to the casino.

Never heard of it

I never heard of it but it makes sense, you have to be in mind control when you play poker, sometime I haven't feel 100% in mind control before I start a tournament, but when I'm in the mood i'm unstoppable

I have a motivational youtube video that I watch every session. It might be superstition but every time I don't watch it, I run bad.

Before playing real games, I play for playmoney. It usually different strategy games, but there are many common grounds, like analyse your opponent, have patience, remember the ranges you usually play, etc.
