A bit of everything, play as much as you can but also try read some books on poker or watch videos. What fasincates me is how live players play very different to the way they teach.

I play some real money, watch review hands on youtube, read articles on CC. But I think practicing is the best method

I read training articles on the Internet, watch videos. But the most important thing in learning is playing practice and constant analysis of sessions.

I learned by playing-online coahing ,and a boat load of watching poker vids on u-toobe-was never much on reading books-gotta be careful just trying to play and do nothing else-its like going to the driving range and everything slices-I got real good at slicing it didn't improve until I took some lessons-same with poker ul get out of it as much as you put into learning-enjoy the journey its a wild ride

I play a lot of freerolls and tournaments, it's better to play a lot of freerolls and there will be good training and it will be great to get the game and be able to win, I watch a lot of video poker lessons and watch games like professionals, and for me the game gets better when I go through training !!

Just started, see some vids on YouTube, hand reviews, playing low limits ($0,25), freerolls and league games and watching streamers on Twitch who comment the hands (KevinMartin987 being the best, Spraggy and ALLinPav are good too)

If you are good at math, stick to the books first.

If you are a doer and a psychological specialist, you will gain very little from books as you will find a looser style suits you much better.

The book-type will prefer tournament grinding as things like Independent Chip Model and HUD stats are far more guaranteed to both be useful and let you have more of an edge that you ever could in the cash games.

The psychological/doer type will enjoy cash games far more as it requires constant adapting and outplaying at every single stage but rarely, if ever in a session, reward in bursts.

I learn from my own mistakes - the most effective learning method known today :D

But I really try not to repeat my mistakes. I write them down and try to remember.

As for me better play more than learn theory. For example 30% is theory from sites, books, movies, streams and 70% is my own experience of playing with others. Ofc basic knowledge about the game must be learned as rules, combinations and common strategies but it`s all useless if you dont take practice:)

For me, books and videos teach the theory and are very good source of learning but the final learning happens in practice in real games online. I think you definitely need both to really learn, theory and practice.

Freerolls are a waste of time in my opinion because people are not playing the same way as in real-money games. That's because they have nothing to lose and most of the time you see players just throwing all-in, trying to double up. However, I would still recommend freerolls for total beginners just to see how the software works and get at least some kind of table experience before entering the real games. Real games are still very different and that's where the actual learning happens when you put your theory into practice.

Both + watching videos. But practicing is the most important of learning, IMHO.

I prefer to study in freerolls, to improve my skills, and to keep myself toned, I continue to do this, and I constantly self-train.
