when I notice a tilt i mostly go out for a run. relax and then it is mostly done. you need to stop and think about what you were playing. while tilting you often try you get your chips back not to play good ;)

For me it depends on where i am playing...

If its live games - i usually manage tilt pretty well, brush off beats and as long as i am playing solid and getting my money in good i am ok - but if i feel it coming undone i get up and go take a break to calm myself and get my head right, or i just quit altogether for the day.

Online - sometimes for whatever reason i lose my mind - let it all out and go on a Phil Hellmuthian style rant...then im immediately fine again and i go back to playing.

One thing has helped me above most others...i just keep telling myself if i got the money in good - to be happy. Not much more you could ask for.

If you get KK and lose to JJ on the bubble for your tournament life...sure that sucks, it will hit you pretty hard - but overall, you got it in as a 80% favorite...i will take those odds everyday all day long. AK vs Ax - 75% to win the hand (same with any other heads up dominant hands) - doesnt get much better than that. You gotta be happy when you are almost always getting your money in good - it is the entire point of th game annnnnd, will make you a winning long term player.

tilt is hard to avoid when u take a bad beat but i think u have to try to take a break and then get right back at it like falling off a horse u have to get right back on

Throw the laptop at the wall. No....I get frustrated, like anyone else, but poker is a game of variance. I generally don't let it affect my play. If I'm playing live and suffer a bad beat I get up and smoke (I know, I know, it's a terrible habit), if I really get hit hard I'll walk away from the table. Same with online. I'll sit out and look for a forum to talk about tilt on (I just got knocked out of a tournament on an awful beat.) Really though, as long as I made the right play, and got beat by someone making a bad call, or someone sucking out on me, I just remind myself that the odds are the odds for a reason and I did the right thing. The only times I really get frustrated is when I am the one that screwed up. That is when I take a break.

If I'm in tilt i go to bathroom and wash my face:D then I go and drink some tea with something tasty. You should know that in poker you can lose when you are stronger player and it's normal.

Ah key word... refresh!

The best thing you can ever do is have the sense to get up from the table,
go smoke a dooob, or whatever, get FRESH air. Call your wife/gf/lover.
TExt your dog. Order a pizza. Grab a beer, coke/pepsi/tea.... good thinking with
the cold water on your face. I like that one, but dunking your head out the door
in Canadian winter when it's -brrr out works just as well. The key part is what
are you doing to trigger just waking up and catching yourself in a Tilt fall and
making yourself aware enough to snap out of it?

It happens to the best of us sometimes.

When this happens, I close the desk and turn off the device. The key is to relax and avoid making the wrong choices. I leave for the morning, which is a new day and a new situation.
(tip for life) Always before making a major decision, sleep, the other day with a cool head you will be much more prepared to hit on your choice.

When you get a cooler embrace it take a deep breath and tell yourself I will get it back!
If you are sitting just stand up breath and take notes of the hand to revie it later.

I pride myself on not going on tilt but there are times when the beat is more harsh than usual. Prime example was last night: first hand of a sit-n-go I get dealt QQ in the cutoff and raise to 3x, only the BB calls. Flop is J82 rainbow, BB leads with a potsize bet, I raise, he reraises and I go all-in. He calls and shows KJ os - turn is a K and river is a blank. I was definitely on tilt and did something you should never do: tried to make-up the loss by playing in a cash game up one level from where I typically play and nearly lost the entire buy-in within an hour.

Should have just walked away after the beat in the tourney.

I don't tilt too often to begin with. But when I do...

I usually don't tilt to begin with. But when I do, I drink Dos Equis (joke).

Breathe in breathe out and maybe don't play a few hands until your proper mood is recovered.

If you are tilting and get pocket aces the next hand it can be played in your favor!

I think that you have to accept that you cannot control variance and move on.

everyone has such inclinations, you just have to stop maybe .. maybe miss a couple of hands .., get together and then play

I pause the game for 1-2 days and analyze what I did wrong. The main thing is calm down.

Hello.
Meditation helps me. I try to meditate every day and because of this, I have no negative emotions. Meditation allows me to be focused and always have a positive mood.

Hi, Bro! I think, no an one human, who was not in the tilt, because we are people, not robots! Simply all depend from nervous system every human, hence at the first place coming out genetics, that is our ancestry: mother with father, grandmothers with grandfathers,
and etc. Therefore difficult to give anything advice by this question (tilt) an another human. This a personal work (secret laboratory) everybody above yourself... I can wish you only good luck in this a very difficult and a very important question!

The safest and most general answer would be to first correctly recognize you are on tilt and then take a break. Duration of which depends on how long it takes for you to take your mind off of what put you on tilt. So it could be awhile.

Ability to train your mind to understand 1 hand at a time in isolation while also appreciating you are playing for long run.

You have to rationalize your fears and anger. Use the logic to realize that thanks to the variance there is professional poker. AA vs. 22, it's an 80-20 in your favor. When 20% of the villain passes, it should not bother you, they're just maths.
That also helps me a lot. Stats involved, uf I've played my best, is pure luck after that.

Real problem for me is this. I actually go on Tilt when I played like a freaking lunatic and knew better. Fact is, when you're in many tournaments (Live or Online), taking a break will cost too much, so I have to suck it up and keep playing. That is what I need to work on. Getting back on track almost immediately.

Remind yourself bad runs happen and good ones are coming. Continue studying strategy after bad runs to help motivate you and remind you that there is more than luck involved. Realize that it's an up and down grind and that the loss is just temporary. Be proud of having made the right play even if you lost that particular pot.
