Does anyone indicate a suitable place to learn this type of poker?

I don't like to play Hi/Lo, most of the tournaments of this format that I played, players go all in with any card if omaha is already complicated to play hi/lo is much more, you can't have a healthy game and evaluate who regular or not, especially if it's kcnockout

Those were hard games to find years ago. The casinos cater to NL Holdem because of the influx of amateurs. The only time I could an get a hi/lo game would be on the weekends and many times I couldn't play because it was hi stakes game, like really high stakes, lol (well, well beyond $20/40) and it was usually OE so I had to pass most of the time unless the old timers were around playing the lower limits.

Unless you really enjoy the games and have access to a nice pool of players online or at a casino then I wouldn't suggest learning them.

I would suggest the next time you head down to your local casino to ask the person working the sign up board to join a poker table when was the last time your casino had a stud8 or razz or OE game or omaha8 game whether pl or limit going and how consistently do the tables fill up to get an idea of if you can find players.

And the answer will usually be not enough people will join you and if they do join you, they'll probably be like me that sorta have a clue how to play those games vs someone like a beginner that just got off work who has money to burn like the folks at the low stakes nl holdem tables so you'll still be better off learning nl holdem.

I asked Chris Wallace where he played and how to find games from what I gathered he's in Vegas and suggested using PokerAtlas to find a place that caters to hi/low games by looking up casinos on that site so that might help.

You could try online but again, the player pool will be bigger for holdem. The other thing is if you were to take the time and effort to learn holdem instead of hi/lo games then you more than likely will have more success in general whether you play live or online.

Casinos and online sites cater to NL holdem because they get more foot traffice/interest and that's just the fact. I'm not a fan of NL holdem but it is the game of the day.

If you still want to learn those games then I would suggest you learn how to play the hi side which might be easier to find a game to play THEN learn the low side of the game. So if you want to learn how to play stud 8 then I would suggest playing stud first or omaha before learning omaha 8.

I learned those games through books. I used the old 2+2 Advanced books like Seven Card Stud for Advanced Players and Ray Zee's Hi Lo Book is a major source how to play stud8 and omaha8 but again like I've said many times before, someone can read a book in a weekend but I can guarantee you that it will take you a lot, lol a lot longer to master the material in those books.

Those books are from before the Poker boom and you should be able to buy uber cheap copies if you live in the US. But you should start with a beginner book before even trying those books because they're boring and filled with poker jargon that the authors expect you to know and the type of game they will tell you play is a tight solid thinking person's game that beginners will not want to play because they don't have discipline and because they don't have the experience to think about hands, lol, but its a winning strategy.
