Hi, I was recently playing zoom poker on pokerstars. I used to play no limit texas holdem 10/25 cent and 50/1 dollar. Then heard that pokerstars had zoom plo so I decided to give that a go and started playing 50/1 dollar on there. I read another post about the beginners guide to plo and the guy said only play hands with a good combination like J1078ds type hands. Also I tend to raise alot from different positions because people just fold more, I would think this would be a problem and something I need to work on, as I read on a different forum that it's better to play fewer hands with plo. I just wanted to ask whether it is profitable to play zoom poker plo? Also whether there is different sort of technique to play zoom compared to normal cash ring games. Plus I just prefer to play zoom poker because its more faster, more action and with plo I made quite a bit of money in a short period of time but then saw the drastic down swing. Also with zoom poker my play style is quite loose, I tend to call more than I should be that's my downfall I like to see more hands. also I 3 bet alot if I do have AA78 or types of hands similar. Sometimes I 3 bet with akq10 type hands if I think the guy is weak. Another thing is for example if I raise from the button with a hand like AKQ10ds or something similar to $3, and the guy in the big blind decides to 3 bet me to 10 dollars. what should I do in this position, because most of the time I just think the player is bullshitting but then again he could have a hand like AcAsKJh so I would be pretty stuck there and have to fold. Mainly I do call 3 bets alot I lose to most of those pots then win, but just advice on that, what sort of hands should I be calling 3 bets with or should I be folding to them more often. I'm not concerned with stats and stuff till now, but I think I need to start analysing my poker play and just learn more and become better. Because if I continue playing the way I am in the long term I will lose alot. So for my last 2000 hands here are my stats ...
Omaha (Real Money):

1743 hands played and saw flop:

- 131 times out of 304 while in small blind (43%)

- 175 times out of 301 while in big blind (58%)

- 378 times out of 1138 in other positions (33%)

- a total of 684 times out of 1743 (39%)

Pots won at showdown - 100 out of 257 (39%)

Pots won without showdown - 427

It does look like I play alot of hands,

but I'm kind of a beginner with stats so if someone could just explain to me

what all this means in detail and what sort of percentages are decent that would be great.

Also would using a hud be usefull when playing zoom poker, I haven't thought about it

till now because with zoom you just fold and move on to the next hand and won't play against the same opponent often..

If anyone knows which one I should use, and also different sites that could help me

get better at plo. If there are any other stats that could help me please let me know.

As I realised when I played zoom plo, I won alot in a short time. As I was playing pretty

aggressive and 3 betting quite alot and getting away with it. Then I realise how things can change

as I was playing decent hands but the opponent just had better for example I hit a q on the turn and had a set of q's

he had 2 pair and a straight draw. I went all in for I think 50 dollars and he called and caught his straight.

I just couldn't get away from a hand like that, so maybe I just need to limit

the types of hands I play, and play more combination sort of hands where I

can hit the flop in more ways and just be ahead. Rather than playing pair hands like AA72 and thinking

I have the best hand or 66ch77ds. I think the main thing I need to work on

is discipline and patience and just watiting for the right hand in the best position.

I do prefer playing zoom poker plo, but would it be better to play ring games instead?

Well I'll stop playing plo for the moment untill I study the game and learn more also when I do start to play I'll have to lower the limit I play on.

I know i've posted quite alot of information, if you could read it and get back to me that would be

helpful. Thanks for reading and hopefully I get better at the game, and
I'll be really thankful for any suggestions and advice.
