Well, if the question is:
- are the freerolls fast way to get bankroll?

Then answer is no. Even part time job at stupid McDonnald will get you money faster. Plus as first time depositor you will get some nice bonuses at most poker rooms.

As you probably heard many times from parents, if you want money get a job. If you want money from poker, you should deposit.

freerolls have super variance as people get it in with ANY TWO CARDS. however if your busto they are good to try grind up a roll..

There are freerolls on every skin now, so it is very possible to grind a roll from nothing. I have not deposited since Black Friday and I have rolls on every US friendly skin, but it takes forever to build it up. Once you win some money play the micro games and use the best bankroll management possible. Good Luck!

In open freerolls you have to gamble if you want to make it deep, the play is totally different from CC freerolls. Fold equity doesn't mean as much in open freerolls, if you get down to 10BB midway through and start shoving, people are going to call because they have a couple of suited cards or just for the hell of it..
CC games aren't the same, but I wouldn't go as far as to say they're completely different. It's more a matter of degree. Over the past few months, there has been an influx of less experienced players. This means the play in the early stages, while still better than in open freerolls, does tend overall to be below the level it used to be. And if you happen to get a table draw with several of these players, there can be quite a bit of bingo-like play.

If you don't want to deposit any money to get started then obviously freerolls are your best (only?) option.

The play is terribly inconsistent, often worse than when players risk their own money. Donktastic!

You probably require more luck to win at a freeroll because players will force you to take more flips.

Freerolls are usually more crowded tournaments so you have the larger field to get through before you win anything. Consider any freeroll a MTT, if you generally hit the final table in any MTT then a freeroll can be a bankroll builder.

I would rather play single table tournaments or ones where the players actually invested something to play there.

I still play every freeroll that I can, if not solely for the experience.

Everybody knows that any kind of real job will get you more money than poker freerolls. But, then again, i think that was not the question, rahter if using freerolls is a hard way to get cash/bankroll

I have played a lot of freerolls.I thought that will let me learn poker from begining, and waste least money. But I doubt that to be right.May be,if I had enought money,I ought to begin from some low buying, that could save me more time.

luckytvguy...you are right...coz trying to build your BR from freeroll is an absolute waste of time, its a good place to learn the basics though...imo deposit small amount of cash and build up your BR till you develop solid playing strategy...and then come back and play the freerolls just for experienced...and observed how the donks, fish, idiots and russians are playing...if you're serious about poker you need to know how to play with any kind of players in any circumstances.

What are you after? Money or experience? Freerolls are horrible for money, excellent for experience.

If you want experience 'how not to play', then open freerolls are great!! I guess it should teach you to be super tight and hope your hands hold (but seriously good luck).

yes they definitively aare! You just have to know which are worth to play.. there are still some of them every week :) But they are on different softwares so you have to have like 7-8 softwares instaled :) I was able to make 100-150 dollars per month just from freerolls, when I started to play poker and I played like 5-6 hours daily it. But I was always too greedy and I withdrawed all of it so my bankroll is still 0 :D
If we assume you play 5.5 hours every day, that's 165 hours in a 30-day month. Winning an avg of $125 per month works out to about 75 cents per hour. And that's only if, as you stated, you're selective about the ones you play.

Whether 75 cents per hour is "worth it" is a personal, subjective matter. I think it will help people decide for themselves if they're aware that while it's possible to win $100-150 or more per month freerolling, it's a grind to do so since the hourly rate is small.

I live in Serbia!!! There is NO jobs here! Unless you want to work a 12 hour shift for 200 euros a MONTH!!! So getting a job is same as playing freerolls lol, waste of time and nerves.

Freerools don't have very bad way to take money, but you need play very good.
Who play in pokerstar know what is Sunday wr2...
Many peoples take part there but lose...
I think the better is deposit and win, but don't go in big loses...

The bad thing about freerolls is that at first all in and throw all that difficult to play in a comfortable and correct! My recommendation for you would be to deposit money 10 dollars or more if possible and play micro-stakes, mtt, because there is buy in and many people do not throw all in a row like a freeroll! Returning to your question is not impossible to be top 3 in a freeroll in fact I have finished second in Banckrollmob pokerstars, end 3 in a freeroll in pokerstars jhonnybet is not only impossible it is difficult

I'm having a hard time winning a freeroll because in the beginning people go all in all the time and i get beat with pocket aces or king a lot, it seem almost impossible to win one, or is it just me that can't win one or finish in top 3??
On the one hand playing freerolls and not depositing money is a kind of challenge for you, so it is good idea, but it is very hard to build a bankroll in a freeroll tournament.
If you have enough broken AA and KK, you can make a small deposit and try your hand at higher level, there does not happen very often. (not often as freeroll)

by the look of it, there are some diferences amoung what some users find it is worthy and other don't.

If you are looking for a stable income, that bring you values as if you were working in a regular job, then freerolls aren't worthy unless you are a big poker star and go to the final places all the time.

If you are just trying to get some bankroll to start playing real money tournments/cash games without spending money from your own pocket (as it is my case), then i find freerolls are a very good fount of income that besides bring you some cash (if you are able to get to the money places), it will also get you some experience that it will be usefull for you when you start to use those gains that you achieve

Probably all began with freerolls. Won small bank, then everything lost and brought the deposit. Freerolls are necessary what though will a little learn to play without worrying for money.
