Cooler:
It's a situation that happens when you have a strong game in your hand and your opponent has an even stronger game, most of the time players go all in even pre-flop thinking they are winning.
On a 9-handed table, the probability that you open the pocket KK in your hand and the opponent has AA in his hand is 1 to 25, with the pair of QQ the situation is a little more difficult because the probability that you are facing a AA pair or KK pair is 1 to 12.

Bad beat:
it's a situation that happens when you have a strong hand with a high chance of winning and taking the pot but the opponent still wins with his weakest hand, usually when ALL IN happens on the flop the opponent's chances of winning are less 20%, but still the miracle happens.

Thanks for sharing this! But is there already a summary for those terms?

I think they posted this just to summarize the meaning for newer players not knowing the difference ;)

Bad beat = Cooler and and vice versa, I think) Difference is very slight, bad beat just a "weak cooler" when very strong hand looses to weak or weakest at some point of the runout, and classic cooler is a battle of 1st versus 2nd nuts of the runout)
