Patience is key.

I would build a roll using freerolls until you have $100. Then play either the $0.02/$0.05 cash tables or the $2-$5 SNGs.

Just remember, in order to cash out you'll have to make a deposit eventually. I don't know of any site that allows withdrawals otherwise.

I reccommend participating in leaderboards, like bankrollmob ones, or perfectly - pokerschool open league. They reward consistent results more, so it's a bit less luck if big money comes to those who are on top after 3 months and 6 tourneys a day. Can be a nice kickstart for your roll.

Try pure poker, they have freerolls a few times a day where you can win a ticket into a $1,000 freeroll on saturdays

I've been cashing about 10% of the free rolls on Full Flush, so it's possible. I've definitely improved at playing tournaments by playing them. Most of my experience before this was cash, so it's been fun to learn here, but there's still more for me to grow.

It does take patience, but if that's the only way you can play it's definitely the way to go.

Hi,

My maingoal of this year with poker is to build a bankroll without making any deposit.
The thought is that is I play well, I do not need to deposit.
The idea is to start building the bankroll with freerolls, and from there on to expanse it. Do you have any tips for accomplishing this, like a bankroll management or something? For example if I have won 10$, with buyins should be reasonable to play tourneys?
Thanks in regards.

play all freerolls you can!!

I think if you google Chris Ferguson 0 to 10k challenge you will find a lot written in his own words about his strategy for going from 0 to 10k and even though it was years back the strategy is still probably pretty sound. Please don't take this post as an endorsement of the person by me... I am aware there are a lot of people that don't like with good reason anyone involved with Full Tilt pre-Black Friday, I am only suggesting reading the strategy.

You can begin from the lower buy-ins and go to higher when you have profit!

from $0 to $200 - my little 2 cents on that matter

It is possible, I did it myself during this last 3 or 4 months. First of all, I'm a very conservative/tight recreational player, who just started to really learn the game in those last months, and I play only on pokerstars (till now, but I'll try 888 next).

They had those Ronaldo, Neymar freerolls for a while and I was lucky enough to cash on 2 of them ($9 and $12). Then I started to play 0,27 tournaments and cashed big one time ($81). Now I play $0.25 sit 'n gos and $0.55 tourneys.

I don't know if what I'm about to say is the standard lesson on how to win freerolls or microstakes tourneys, but i just was playing really old school poker, waiting for nice spots, folding a lot, making notes on the weakest players etc. You only can beat bad players with good old proper poker, and you know, 70%, 80% of those fields are composed of really crazy bad players.

So, thats my experience on that subject... But if I had to start again, knowing what know by now, I would try just PLO freerolls. Yes, Omaha is a game of high variance, yep... but trust me... you will be the only man with eyes on a jungle full of blind animals. You will be king ;)

Good luck!

This is possible, although probably difficult and time consuming. I'm sure it's been done plenty of times.
With that being said, If you won a 10 dollar br you'd want to play the lowest stakes available to you.

Anyways, this is a fairly old post, so I'd like to hear about any progress you may have made!

It's possible to build up your bankroll from scratch, but it'll require lots of patience. Especially now that many sites no longer have no deposit bonuses available... there was time when you could easily get 100+$ bankroll in total from different sites, which is rather decent starting bankroll.

Your only chance of doing this is by winning a freeroll or participating in bonuses, the freerolls usually have thousand of players fighting for some small pot of $10-$100, but if this is the way you wanna go you should start there, it'll take alot of time so I don't see any point in doing this instead of just depositing a few dollars and start from there.

There used to be on 888poker the 75$ 3 times a day free for everyone plus the snap poker , now only the snap poker .There used to be on PokerStars the 25$ bankrollmob and other freerolls , now cardschat and 2 others only.... Even the freerolls with deposit become more rare and difficult (the 1000k privilege on Stars stopped )

Hard times to build a bankroll , with or without deposit....

Its achievable to earn money from free tournament then multiply them and to rotate some currency and earning for yourself. Thats hard thing to achieve, cause when player, who never gave money and lose them, has a chance to multiply the money which he earned for free.
I think that the player, who experienced the lose, can be on the winners place.
But that doesnt mean you have to stop trying. It will be nice me to be wrong! :)

You can start the tournament with a 45-max & buy in = 0.25$ . This tournament has a very easy field , so you can win 2-3 $ without any effort. For a month, you can safely get to the $ 50 br, and go to the limit buy in =1$, there will be more difficult to play. Per month, you can get a bank roll of 100-150 dollars. then you can start playing tournaments with a large field or what do you want.

There's no doubt whether you can do it or not, it just takes a very long time this way. With poker you often need money to make money- or at least more money in a shorter time. It's good practice though, so go for it! Just don't make slip-ups because without a bankroll there's no buffer zone to fall into
