I won more than I lost. I am a supporter of smooth growth in limits. Your ego can inflate your skill level, but only statistics will give the right answer. Therefore, it is better to start playing poker with freerolls or microlimits, perfecting the theory and confirming your superiority, and then moving on to the next level.

I would warn the poster that many people are reluctant to share losses while excited to share wins. So I would not infer how easy or hard it is to make money long term playing poker by random responses on the internet. I think the general consensus is that the average poker player is a loser. It stands to reason as the average player would normally break even theoretically but then when we add in the fact that online and casino games all take a rake you must be better than average (or lucky) in order to make a consistent lifetime profit. Also the more you move up the ranks the tougher the games will get in general. So while some people have posted they made money their first year, a few years later that may not be the case. It will be very difficult to know for sure what percentage of players are life time winners just take solace in the fact that being a lifetime winner is rare and when and if you get there you should be proud. Poker isn't for everyone.

For me personally. I started playing around 2003/2004 and only officially started tracking every session in 2014. I show a lifetime profit but I have been playing for a long time and have read and studied the game. I am a recreational player but obviously there are also professional players who manage to make a lifetime profit. So it may be difficult but it is possible to be a lifetime winner. Hope this helps.

I believe I'm up, but that's just from being able to play without depositing from freeroll winnings. Since I've been here at CC I've started a couple of small rolls, and I'd like to thank them for the opportunity to do so... thank you Cards Chat. :flowers:

I've easily lost my bankroll more than I've withdrawn. Granted most of my winnings come from freerolls so technically my bank account doesn't feel the pain, but I have deposited in a few sites a few times and I'm pretty sure my net winnings are negative.

Considering I have never deposited a single dime, I'm doing pretty well for myself. I recently made over 100 dollars.

Sometimes I think I'm being targeted by the system, though. I can go hours without a single good hand... And when I do get a good hand, everyone on the table seem to have better hands than me... I think there's a lot behind the scene, but when I notice this bad streak, I immediately quit and wait a whole day to play again. This seems to temporarily fix my "bad luck"...

I play poker for 9 years. For the first three years I spent about 300-400 dollars. Then I gradually started to make a profit. The last 3 years poker brings me regular income.

Yup - if we're talking about just money online. I've invested probably about $50 total in online poker and cashed out about $200. However, I also buy poker merch and play live tournaments for fun that I never expect to cash in just because my friends are there. I'd say when I'm "playing poker" and trying to win, I'm up about 400% overall. If I'm including "poker as entertainment", I've probably just about broken even.

No, I lost more money in poker than I won, and now I’m trying to get all my money back and then start making money playing poker. Unfortunately, I lost a lot of time learning to play poker.

I do not even know what to answer this question. At the very beginning I made small deposits, but over the past 5 years I have not made a single deposit. Now I play from scratch and help me freerolls, including tournaments Kardchat.
I think I'm still in the red, but very small in the region of 100-150 dollars. But if you take into account the money won in poker and lost in the slot machines of the casino, my minus is about 4000 dollars.

Hi.
In fact, I play only in freerolls, so poker always brings me profit. On average, I manage to win $ 20-30 a month.
Good luck.

If you count all the time, then of course I won more than I lost, but this is not enough and I'm going to win a lot more :)

Hi , I'm just curious .
Did you win more money than you lose at poker in your entire life?;)
I first started playing poker, I replenished my bankroll with small amounts of 10-20 dollars and I tried to raise them up to 100-200 and more and then withdraw on the card if I win somewhere in cash games or in tournaments from 200-300 I leave for myself for further play somewhere between 20-30 dollars and the rest I transfer to the card, because in my country it’s normal money 200-300-400 dollars, if you convert dollars to currency in my country, then 300 dollars is about the average salary working, so i'm at poker more to win than losing!
