Absolutely. Me and professional poker player Maurice Hawkins got into it(http://pokerdb.thehendonmob.com/player.php?a=r&n=36583) as usual at the table during the WSOP circuit. Whenever I see him at the table, fireworks go off between us. Tournament director always puts us on a one round penalty. We can never recover after that. Everytime him and I are at the table, we have never cashed in a tournament.

But, this is how you win money at a live tournament. You have to talk shit. Mr. Nice Guy act does not cut it with the sharks.

I agree one of my faves is Sam Grizzle and Phil Helmuth. I play in Biloxi with Sam when I go down for the heater and gulf port classic all the time he's great for the game. This is very much a good strategy to get an edge.

I don't think this works most of the time but there have been situations where I felt a player was targeting my stack. Sometimes you get the best of them when you finally push back and sometimes they get the best of you. I don't necessarily think you are really making any profit over time by going after certain players. Unless you know a certain player is horrible and keep searching them in the lookup to get on tables with them. Then they will figure it out and not want to play with you.

I think this is one of the best strategy to do in micro stackes and freerolls... You find someone in the table and everytime he takes an action you try to make him fold... Almost everytime It works... The person you are stalking is going to tilt in a few hands and Go ALL in with any two.
Of course you need to know basics to aply this "strategy". I recomend you to do that sometimes and grow your stackes.
Have you ever done It? How It feels to you
I fully agree with
Newzooozooo, I also play calmly and wait for my cards to play and I can win, but at some points when I have a great combination and the player raises then I play aggressively and try to pull it out as much as possible!

This "strategy" will work against the fish. The normal player will catch the combination and take the pot.

Too many variables online in my opinion. You may think its working and they guy/gal is playing 10 games and hardly paying attention. That's when a good player can get Donk'd and then try to pin it on good/bad strat

Someone said above this can work in person because you can look into their eyes or non verbal body language. I agree with that

It's not a "strategy" for me. There is no edge. And a lot of circuit players such as me are not fish. :D Sometimes there is bad blood among other big poker regulars who know one another and just do not like each other. The tournament director will gives us multiple warnings and eventually every once in a while we get a one round(sometimes two) penalty to shut us up and calm us down. That's just how it goes in the poker world. :)

Poker is very competitive and sometimes we have to talk some trash.

No, I never do it and I do not like players who use this strategy. My philosophy is to live and let to live :)
