Well, yeah, there's money that can be made in microstakes. It's really just relative to your bankroll. As a matter of fact, if your bankroll is under $500, I would suggest testing out your success in microstakes to begin with. Ulimtately, if you can't build your roll in microstakes, you won't be able to in higher stakes. So start with microstakes and build your way up. 2000 blinds. That's my suggested bankroll to dictate what level to play

Just FYI, Doug just finished getting his bankroll challenge to $10138 or something close to that. He played lots of 200nl and switched to 500nl near the end. He rushed the end but it worked out well

Stay away from cash micro stakes. I know only one player who makes money there, and he is a very good judge of villains.
SNGs have been profitable for me.
Tournaments can be profitable but you need to have a lot of time available

Good afternoon! Well I think best player with the weak and recreational players than playing against regular players, I've been having some good results thanks to God finally have to get more volume and play where you have the more profit does not come from there.

I've recently been studying some of Nate "BlackRain79" Williams training materials. He is, I believe, the most winning player in history at the micro stakes. His training material is amazing. It really will open your eyes to things you never really think of when playing at those stakes. Good stuff.

Hey there friend, miss seeing you around Imma check out Black Rain..thanks alot;)

Micros are extremely frustrating but you can win and move up. Takes a ton of time and patience though, the likes of which most of us do not have. I have been doing a similar challenge except for I started with $0 and am playing free rolls to build a bankroll. So far I'm up to about $25 on ACR and $42 on ignition on free rolls alone. Will venture into microstakes cash soon.

It’s absolutely possible, not only to make money playing low stakes online poker, but to also make enough money to treat poker as a profession. The road can be long and difficult and mainly reserved for those with the crazy dedication….but it can be done...

I thought I would try & follow Doug Polk with his micro-stake challenge of turning $100 into $10,000.

He is 2 years in and has only gotten to $1,600 odd.

I tried myself but people play like idiots on these tables. Play any 2 cards, never fold, always stick around with flush draws etc.

I think it’s impossible to play normal poker and it’s equally almost impossible to have the best hand through flop, turn & river which means you might as well check to the river & hope you win!

That’s a dumb way to play poker!

Is anyone on CC consistently making money on micro-stakes?

And go.......

:jd4:

'normal poker' < what's that?

In poker we should always be making adjustments. On microstakes tables where players aren't folding (the situation you described) has got to be one of the EASIEST places to have a high (bb/100) winrate (or high ROI).

Sure. Why stop there? The only limit to what you might win are the number of hours in a month, the number of cash or tournament games available to you, and your skill/luck. Oh, and of course your bankroll.

All you need to do is look at the possible BB/100hands you can win at the stakes and multiply this by #hands per day across all tables you would play. Simple.

Yes you can make money but in very small amounts comparative to the amount of time invested. Micros are good for learning and eventually moving to larger stakes.

I think you'd have a lot better luck tabling micros on zoom than just standard but either way micro's are much more influenced by variance than higher stakes because there is such a higher percentage of crazy players.

Yeah, it's tough on microstakes. But it's possible if you choose your games carefully, for example play normal speed sngs vs hypers. Also play normal cash games vs zoom (on stars)

It is possible to win on micro bets. I play zoom, snap cache fast poker. The main thing is to stick to the strategy and not play a bad hand. I mainly play two tables. The most important thing here is not to rush, because rush leads to a loss. Good luck to you .

I played a lot of micro tournaments before going to the cash tables, and the gameplay is totally different ...
Micro is full of crazies, yet when I want to relax I go to the micro tournaments to see some crazier hands

Reduce the number of tables
By reducing the number of tables you play at the same time, you will definitely increase your winrate. As long as I can remember, I've always played 24 tables, and only a few years ago I reduced the number to 8-12. My winrate on all limits after that at least doubled.
When you dramatically reduce the number of tables, you free up a lot of time on the two most important factors that determine your win rate at the tables:
Select
Quality of decisions
This is one of the main reasons why I never answer the question: "What should be a good win rate". You can not compare the win rates of a player who grinds 24 tables, and a player who opens only 8 tables, as well as the second with the one who plays only one table. These are completely different things.
The bottom line is that if you want to have a higher win rate, you need to play fewer tables.
In addition to reducing the tables, you can try the game at the tables of fast poker. By opening only 2 Zoom Poker Windows you can get the number of hands similar to 8 regular game tables. Concentrate on 2 Windows will be much easier, so the winrate will be higher.

When PS and FTP had lots of traffic. the SnG 180 and 90 person were profitable in micro-stakes. Can't find any now that loads quickly to play.

Micro stakes are for learning, not for profit. And yes, you can learn all the lessons there are @ the microstakes.
But I do not suggest ca$h games at all - the money is in the tournaments. It may not seem like that at the first glance for unexperienced player, but I am telling you :)

The beauty of poker is that when you learn to exploit these kinds of players you realize how multidimensional the game really is.

Also you will make way more bb/100 vs these guys than better players.

Micros.

Good evening everyone.
I've been playing poker for 1 year and lately I'm doing very well on the micros mainly at the $ 1.10 6max and the $ 2.20 Mtt Deep stack.
I'm being profitable playing these tournaments, I'm also doing well playing the $ 1 180-player sit go, which pays $ 50 for 1st place, it's not hard to be profitable playing the micros, if you study a little by respecting the ranges by position and especially not bluffing you will be profitable on the micros.
