I still continue to work in my main job as the income from poker is very small. I could not make poker my profession, I still play micro-stakes and enjoy it when I can win some money :)

I could make some money on poker. I getting better and better and win some money on freerolls. But then i loose it on other pokerformats. I believe if i play only tourney with no hyper or turbo format i could raise my bankroll. But only if im very disciplinated, this is my biggest mistake. After winning some cash in freerolls i think im the best player and loose it because of to high buyin in tourneys. If i learn to control my game, i think my bankroll would raise slow but i will be growth. Not to pay me rent and my lifestyle but an positive output will be visible.

definitely, but certainly not for everyone, there must also be success. I keep track of several players and this is their only source

Of course you can, but you must have a lot of dedication, patience, and above all a cold mind.

Most players have clear that patience is extremely important to succeed in poker ... however to apply this patience at the time of playing you need a great control of emotions to not rush and make mistakes of playing hands that should not be played ..!

So true. I won $100 in 2 hours last night and lost 80 of it in 1 hand. If you want to be proftiable, minimize your mistakes and exploit your opponents mistakes. Also utiloze GTO play and make sure you are making +EV decisions. Bit you also have to willing to gamble at times if you want to increase your profits. Dont use money you dont want to lose. Scared money dont make no money.

I think you can make money as long as you have behavior. It is not about believing yourself the best player for having accumulated a few dollars. But as you play more, lose or win, you gain experience, that's the most important thing, one day you can become a semi-professional or even a professional who is nothing more than living on your income in poker.

I think some people could make money if they put the time and hard work into it.

It wouldn't be my case ahah. I really like to play, it seems to me the best game of all, but I think that we should not play thinking about making money, but about improving our game day by day and that way, in the long term we will end up winning.

Yes but that shouldn't be a motivating factor unless you consistently win

I think that it is most definitely possible to make a good amount of money playing poker. With that said if you do not know what you are doing it is also possible to lose a good amount of money playing poker. My advice is don't play poker to win a lot of money unless you have the tools to win against good competition. Furthermore, focus on improving and having a good time playing poker. Winning will come but having fun and developing yourself as a good player should come first.:)

Sure, you can make money playing poker. But most people lose at this game in the long run after the rake and variance run their courses.

Since poker is a skill game played between people though, there will always be a pecking order. And therefore, there will always be a small minority who are more talented, and work harder, both at the poker tables, and away from them.

This small minority will make the lion's share of the significant profit in poker. They are usually the ones who are semi-pro or pro as well.

As a person with a normal working day you can't make money in poker. The variance in poker is high. What means that? Let's say you are a good player and you play no limit holdem 1$/2$ and you make an average of 20$ in 100 hands. These are very good profits. The average variance is 200 big blinds. That means you can loose in 100 hands up to 180$ but you can also win 220$ but in average you win only 20$. There's one more problem. Too compensate this huge variance you have to play a lots of hands. Too much hands for a player with a normal working day. You have to play at 20 tables at the same time 8 hours a day to compensate the variance. Otherwise you won't make a long-term profit. Professionell online poker players working with hud stats. So they know how many fishes are at the table. Only with many fishes at the table is it profitable for them. Are there too less fishes at the table they will leave because it is no longer profitable for them. So no i don't think you can make long term profits with playing poker.

You can win poker if you treat it not as entertainment, but as work, that is, you need to constantly study it and work hard, working out the distance.

Very little money can be made playing poker. You would have to practice over a forty hour work week to even break even. Ask any pro and they will tell you the same. Capo1014

On average, I play poker 3-5 hours a day. So, on average, I play 25-35 hours a week. I manage to get a monthly profit of $ 300-500. Honestly, it is hard for me to say that I have earned this money quickly.

This is what I want to achieve now.
Maybe any tips?
What to avoid regarding stakes?

Anyway, good luck in The game!
