I wouldnt call myself a professional poker player because of a simple fact that i dont devote myself to poker only and do not play any big tournaments just now. But i can beat every poker player in the world. Not to say im overall better player than them, but i know i can beat a final table in major poker tournament. Thats the main thing you need in life. Confidence. Do you think Negreanu lacks confidence? Or Cristiano Ronaldo? Or Lebron James? Do you really think they succeded because of luck? No, they all succeded because of their confidence.
EVERYBUDDY can beat a final table at a main event!!!! The problem is how to get there :):thumpdown

I`m advanced amateur. I never will be profesional poker player, because I have a tendency to tilt :( but I love this game and never stop playing. I used blocke higher limits nad Stop-lose . Thanks to this, I do not lose my roll through the tilt.

Yes.

I am a long-time online poker pro (over 10 years) but I consider myself more semi-pro these days in order to travel more and build my side business.

in my opinion a player is not professional until he plays in the wsop .. if you play at home, you are NOT professional .. even if you play cash in a casino in your country you should not consider yourself a pro .. a pro compete in the world tournament more important. Can you compete in other tournaments but win these tournaments? Who plays them? Do you beat professionals? dont? then you are not pro ..

Cash Pro better players than turnament players, u should know that

I'm not a professional poker player and I'm not trying to become one. I just like to play poker, learn and enjoy the game.

There are people on the forum who live in poker, and I know other people in my city who are also professionals. Just to make it clear, these people just play poker and nothing else, their income is just poker. It's possible to live in poker, you just have to believe and run behind it, a brazilian player named Jóao Simão, a 10-year professional poker player, yes that's 10 years, no profits, just investing time, and study, until that he got, he now earns millions online, and live also makes good money.

I used to go around to bar poker when I was younger and play "for a living." Seriously, I made decent money during that time. Nowadays, I would love to become a pro but I'm not there yet.

I want to be a professional. But this requires a lot of time to pay poker! And this does not always work with my rhythm of life.

Of course, i,m sure, we have here some people, who play poker professionally and live for this money. So, poker is their job. Most of the users just play for fun, because playing professionally is not so easy as it seems. So as it seems for me, this is just great to play some poker in your free time!=)

Sure. I consider myself a part time live professional poker player since I still have a job during the day that’s extremely flexible and helps make extra money. I also don’t like telling family or friends that I play poker 6-10 hrs a day so the job is considered a scapegoat. So far for the month of July, I’ve made over $10k playing poker while using my bankroll to tip/eat/drink.

I used to play lots of low stakes limit holdem and low stakes limit omaha hi lo. For years I was a losing player until I switched my game to PLO. The best decision I ever made was to switch to higher stakes to decrease variance and most importantly be able to beat the rake.

I played for a living from 2003-09 and at the end of that time I was utterly burnt out on it. It felt like I was on an assembly line, mechanical play with no joy. The first few years were wonderful, and my father lived with me the last several years of his life so being able to make good money sitting in my living room with him was a godsend. I went back to grad school and am now a university professor. I just started back playing poker a few months ago while recovering from knee surgery and am enjoying it as a hobby but have no desire to go back to grinding a living from the tables. I think it was a lot easier to play online for a living back then; you could just play ABC poker and people would hand you money. There was one site I was paid to play at ,( 2 BBs per hour per table, Limit poker $3/6 and $5/10 ), and had a $2000 deposit bonus for a $500 deposit : I could make $50-60 an hour just playing break-even poker.
