Everyone needs help sometimes...a fresh eye on how you are playing is never a bad thing.
Who can claim to know everything about poker, even pro's will have a few bad habits.

A pro golfer has a coach a pro tennis player has a coach ect.. They keep them on top of there game, mostly puff them up..

As the friend above said, everyone needs a different look. If you are an exciting player and start studying a bit about poker, it is clear that your game improves with little knowledge. Now imagine professionals who play with several good players at all times. They need to reinvent themselves and a coach is good at it and helps him grow as well.

And don't forget ... poker is evolving a lot and without training the pro's risk falling behind. I should think also some mental coaching is involved. Alot of pro's like to combine al kind of varieties of poker to improve their games. Every coach has his speciality and can help them with improving in their favourite games. I think the best coaches can extend the time and amount of winnings. He can get the best out of your poker abilities. And ... you don't have to go through all the newest strategies yourself. He can point out the best lecture and so on.

I wish I could afford me one.

Think its about poker psychology. Someone start to play online and absolute can do nothing live, coach can help you to use your tells more profitably also help u to play with unknown players. We can learn something new from almost every good player. IMO::: . if its online, dont know how they can help.

In any sport, the player has a coach. Poker is no exception.

a cool reading on the way the player plays is the thing that a coach gives him and i suppose some advice.

Find a coach or a group of players better than yourself that you can meet with once a week. Your game will improve.

It helps them to improve their game and to mix up the way they play

I think it's easier for the others to find leaks in your game than yourself.

Of course you will always have someone better than you Someone more experienced who can pass precious acquaintances

Exactly. A coach has a birds eye view of the game so to speak. They can see things that a player simply can't.

thats like asking why would a quarterback need a qb coach, a singer need a voice coach, no matter what the scenario is we all perform better with another persons opinion + training.

The coach is, first and foremost, a very good motivator.

It's pretty hard to ruin yourself in all the subtleties of poker. I believe that a coach is needed at least in order to streamline your knowledge and build a certain strategy based on your training. Coach in poker as a guide for a tourist, will not let you get lost and direct to the right path)))
