why so many updates?

I am constantly getting updates on my programming from various sites but never seem to see any difference in the way their games look or run. Are they installing spyware?

No they sure aren't. What they are doing is fixing bugs that maybe you have not noticed, but they have. They may also be adding minor features into the gameplay, or even modifying the program to make it perform better. It's nothing to worry about if it's a reputable poker site.
