Why is there such a persecution of poker in the world? Why is poker "worse" than the bookmaker or the lottery? The former operates in a semi-criminal format (bans on live games, blocking of poker sites, programs, etc.), while the latter flourish. Excitement, money is present in both cases. I will assume that for some reason the authorities cannot control poker. What do you think of it?

Depends on what country you live in! Where are you from? In ireland all are legal all are fine and there's zero issues about talking about any of them to anyone!

All simple bookmakers and lotteries pay taxes, and in poker, money is very difficult to take under government control.

Engaged in metal search - banned - criminal liability. I became interested in poker - casinos and poker were banned. Became a fish hunter - almost banned. Have I chosen the wrong hobbies? Russia. The authorities take care of us

Ordinary people do not differentiate too much between poker, betting and lottery. It is all gambling to them. Regarding the authorities - at least in my country (Bulgaria) everything is strictly regulated no matter if it is poker, casino, sports booking, bingo or whatever you can think of.
