Find in google poker black friday аnd you will understand why.
There is another version that the government cares about the health of its citizens and therefore has banned poker in this country.

America is not a dictatorship..

Regarding the question though, US players were banned from playing regulated online poker after Black Friday. We are just now recently seeing individual states pass laws that will allow US players to play regulated poker once again, but only on a state-to-state level. This is why you will not see US players on sites like pokerstars or 888. A VPN could be used but I have not heard one good story that ended with that. You would really have to dedicate your time and energy, and even then, it is most likely that you will not be able to cash out any winnings due to the fact you lied about your location.

Currently, US players are limited to sites such as BetOnline, ignition, and ACR. However, if you do live in the US and you live in the states that have passed such online gambling laws, you are able to play regulated online poker, but only while you are in that state, and only on the sites that they determine(ones with licenses).

Sorry to drop in on this conversation but are these the only 3 one can compete on? Is there a list of states that one can check out on this sight? Reason being is that I was pondering that question myself, Thank you, good information.

Not the only 3, but those 3 have the highest traffic(most players). As far as states I believe the only states that offer regulated online poker right now are Nevada, Delaware, and New Jersey. Pennsylvania just passed their online gambling law, so they will be next on the list to join, probably early next year. Michigan also is set to pass a law that will allow their citizens to play online poker as well, but that may take another year or two.

Here's a link for sites that can be played in the US: https://www.usafriendlypokersites.com/

Take note though that Bovada and Ignition are the same player pool and company, just different skin. The same goes for AmericasCardroom(ACR), BlackChip Poker(BCP), and TruePoker. These 3 are all the same player pool and company, just different skin.

Hope this helps!

Thank you me; from California been having hard times trying to find a few decent places to play at but most places will not allow one to play. I guess you could say I came to the right place to play : thank you

Glad I could help. I think you will find most US players on this forum prefer AmericasCardroom. It has pretty good software, lots of players, and LOTS of freerolls. It's my favorite site right now. Ignition has a lot of players as well but offers no freerolls(unless you spend a lot of money on their casino) and it has mixed reviews.

People fronm all over America play Poker, Cheq for the Flags:
In North America: Canadians and Mexicans
In Central America: Costa Rica, Panamá, Guatemala, etc.
In South America: Many from brazil, argentina, Uruguay, Venezuela, Colombia, etc.

America is a Continent, not a Country. We all are Americans. The USA is United States of America: only one country in America :deal:

Poker site

I'm from Alabama so I to am limited on poker sites. I also play at Inter tops. It has a few free rolls and at the moment I prefer their free rolls over ACR. But they don't have near the traffic as ACR. I don't think poker will be in to many states. Mostly just the state's that have casinos already. Specially not in my state it's a bible state. When I was working I traveled all around the US and played at all kinds of casinos. Miss it a bit. Let's play poker

VPN's are not allowed in the states. Many have tried. I wish I can play on Pokerstars somehow but I can't. We're stuck with mostly live play or in rooms with smaller traffic that have been legalized through state legislation.

Merge sites like Carbon and PlayersOnly have limited play per state in the US. Like stated, in the USA we are limited on where we can play. We don't have a strong lobby that will change much. We do however have many live games through out the country.

I still hope to see the Americans playing real poker at the tables. On the pokerstars website I have seen some Americans play playmoney. Maybe Americans will be restrained in online games, and that is a great injury, we need to bring Americans to the tables.

It's a little unclear as to exactly what is banned.

In Vegas, Delaware and NJ, we are only allowed wsop.

In Vegas, I get a pop up window from all other sites informing me that real money is not allowed in my area.

In other states, they are not getting that window and I'm not talking about Michigan and any others commonly mentioned.

On Twitch, one guy is streaming his Bet Online action live from a southern state that nobody is talking about. Another guy streams Americas Cardroom from back east. There's others.

Apparently, some states do not have restrictions against the player but only against a resident from opening an online casino.

I would assume the difficulty involved with operating a VPN, depositing and then withdrawing would make it pretty unreasonable to do so.

If they had a VPN their "flag" wouldn't be American though...

I don’t know how about other poker rooms, but for some reason it’s impossible to play pokerstars for players from America, it would be great for me to play with American players, but the poker room prohibits them from accessing the game and this is very bad!

US players play poker and they are one of the best players in the world, they just can't play at PokerStars, but there are many other poker rooms where they play quite successfully !!!
