I think to accurately answer this question we need statistics that just are not available.... thinks like avg amount of buy ins per tournament, Avg Finish of % of field, ect. it goes beyond winning and losing...

We need to focus on who were the players that were best at adapting to the evaluation, and changes in the game? That would be Phil Helmuth hands down. been playing the longest out of all the top bracelet winners, thus based off the information given he would be at the top...

but then some would say Jason Bonimo Leading money maker for the past 2 years is the best.... I would say, he is the best as of right now, but can he maintain that as the game changes? If yes, then he is the best, if no then No hes not.

Stu has to be considered. He's unarguably the best Gin player- EVER. As far as hold 'em goes.... He's in the conversation. JB has been really hot in tourneys of late. and solid for a long time... Best ever, eh... Hasn't done long enough or proven in enough game variety for my list, but one to watch for sure.
Tough but still think I'm taking Ivey. Long term. Cash, tourney, multi game formats.
If we think poker... not just hold em, not just tourneys, not just recently (past 5 years).... That shrinks the list considerably.

This is a difficult question and needs to be divided into 2 categories - the first is online, one of the best players online is Artem Vezhenkov (veeea), he won the SM 3 times in 2018! the second category is offline - there are many favorites, but I think that Bodyakovsky is now one of the best

I may be a little ignorant on the topic as I don't know a lot of the really great new players but sticking with the big boys, Ivey, Daniel, Helmuth, Seidel are all very, very good. Surprisingly, there isn't a huge difference in talent between the best and amateurs but it only takes that small edge to dominate the poker world.
