I miss the weekly Pub games I organised, I had many friends at the weekly game and miss the needling and friendly banter, we were always giving each other a bit of lip but it was all in good nature'd fun, no one took it too seriously.
If anyone did get out of line there were more than enough to put him back in his place and tell him enough was enough but it rarely happened.
They all respected the fact I had played in many casino's and if there was a problem on one of the tables I was asked as Tournament Director for a final decision.
Most weeks we had as many as 3 tables going, sometimes as many as 4 and on the biggest night, we had 5 full tables of 8 players at each table and had to stop there as we didn't have enough chips to allow any more players.
We had to disappoint a few players who turned up late but they hung around until there was a free table and started a side game for cash, We broke all the rules that particular night as the Landlord added £100 to the prize pool, and we charged double the usual £5 buy-in to £10 and played a bounty hunter style game, each player having a £5 bounty on his head, and it went really well, we even had a couple of Police officers playing.
So we had a £200 prize pool on bounties, and £300 prize pool for the top 5 place finisher's, we were asked to run another, but the landlord would not add another £100, and I didn't blame him, it would have been a bit too exspensive for him to do this every month.
When the fun Stops, STOP!
