I started play live at 20. I really just got lucky, I played poker previously for a long time, but never for money. Whn I finally played live, I ended up playing for a year straight and alost everyday. Just enough to keep me on my feet. I had little knowledge on actually the tricks of the trade. Yeah i lost, but I always seemed to make up for it.
A couple years later when I turned 22 I ended up getting a job at rivers casino. Ended up meeting a guy that was really knowledgeable in poker. I dont know If hes on here, but he's the one that really got me into the game and sort of taught me. I ended up reading 3 books. An from there i started playing tournaments. Since then I've been making final tables, and doing alot better at cash games. When i would walk into my local casino everyone knew me an showed respect. Since his help on two or three occasions when playing 1-2 live I would end up making 700+ no higher then 900 at a table in just 3 hours. Fast forward three years I only play online now, and tournaments, cash games are too much of a risk for me. An my friend played at the
wsop 2010 his name is brenden, its crazy to think that I met this guy and he improved my game an made me into what i am now. Never be afraid to meet new people.
