Well, I have to disagree with BrentD22, because I will slow play pocket A's all day long ,I've played them every which way possible and lost,so I figure I might as well get as much out of them as possible :knuddel:

Smoke lots of reefer, drink a couple of pitchers 'a beer, and then slam a half dozen shots of JD whiskey.
:puke:

Thanks guys for all the great advice. I know this post is very generalised but i thought it would be a good post for every1 to get involved with. I would say that i find slow playing a set on a rainbow flop against an opponent is one of he most profitable plays i have come across.
Instead of building a big pot?? ok.. if you say so

Patience in general and remember the Poker Invictus, (with apologies to William Earnest Henley)

Poker Invictus

Out of the blinds that cover me,
Black as the pit from Pole to pole,
I thank whatever gods may be
for my unconquerable soul.

In the fell clutch of circumstance
I have not winced nor cried aloud.
Under the bad beats of chance
my head is bloody, but unbowed.

Beyond this place of suckout slop
looms runner, runner, spade
and yet the menace of the flop
Finds, and shall find, me unafraid

It matters not how straight the gate,
How charged with punishments the scroll.
I am the master of my fate:
I am the captain of my soul.

Best said in Morgan Freeman's voice. Never surrender! Never give up!

Patience patience patience. Seriously, I think I can track every penny lost down to chasing a draw, calling a "bluff" with C rate cards, or other silly maneuvers.

I have made all of my money, tourney's and otherwise by being patient. I never tend to take too many chip leads until the final 10% remain, and it is boring poker but it is profitable.

I end up blowing it all on an inability to run down a draw. Man that is frustrating...
