Poker is a popular card game around the world, played by millions of people in casinos and online. However, as with any mental game, playing poker involves risks, and it is important that players are aware of those risks and know how to minimize them in order to play more consciously and responsibly.

In my opinion, one of the main risks involved in playing poker is the possibility of losing money. Poker is a skill game, but it also involves an element of luck, meaning that even the most skilled players can lose money under certain circumstances. It's important for players to set a limit on how much money they're willing to lose before starting to play and not exceed that limit. In addition, it's critical that players play responsiBLY and don't bet more than they can afford to lose.

Another risk involved in playing poker is gambling addiction. Gaming can be exciting and fun, but it can become a problem if a player starts spending more money than they can or feels compelled to play even when the money isn't available. To minimize this risk, it's important that players set limits for themselves, play only with money they can afford to lose, and seek professional help if they feel that they are developing a gambling problem.

Additionally, poker players should be aware of the risks associated with online gambling. Playing poker online can be convenient and affordable, but it can also be risky, as there is the possibility of fraud and theft of financial information. It's important for players to choose reputable and reliable betting sites and to be cautious when sharing financial information online.

To minimize the risks involved in the game of poker, it's important that players play with responsibility, set limits for themselves, and be aware of the money they're spending. Players should also be aware of the risks associated with online gambling and choose reputable and trustworthy sites. It's important to remember that poker is a game and should be played with moderation and responsibility.

And you, what do you think?

Pick or play on the bigger regulated site you like the best. I played/tried 4-6 sites over the years but still prefer pokerstars. Play micro/low stakes, start with a $50 deposit play 2nl full ring. If you can't beat that no need to try anything else or any other stake. That's as cheap as poker can be. Keep as little money on the site as possible in case you have issues and they seize it. Besides now days it easy for the micro/low stakes players to get money online. Takes seconds. If you're a winning player over time set a withdraw amount/trigger to keep the min needed in your account. I've done above for 15+ years now and been a micro/low stakes winning player and haven't had any issues. It's been a fun, good hobby and a way to spend time that's kept me outta trouble to be honest.

All of which has the benefit of making my choice of playing poker for a hobby/extra money easier too accept, support and get encouragement from my family and friends. The most important this is having a good poker real life balance. Family, friends and real life still need there time as well.

*NEVER LOAN ANOTHER PLAYER MONEY YOU DON'T KNOW OR WOULDN'T TRUST WITH YOUR LIFE* There's very few people/players I trust that much. Maybe a handful.

Cheers!!!

Poker is a game of chance and strategy that can be very exciting and fun, but it can also be risky for some players. The main risk is losing money when participating in gambling, which can lead to financial and emotional problems if you don't play responsibly and consciously. In addition, playing poker can be addictive, which can lead to serious problems such as gambling.

To minimize the risks associated with poker and play more consciously and responsibly, it is important to follow the following recommendations:

  1. Set financial limits: Before you start playing, it's important to set a budget and limit the amount of money you're willing to lose in the game. You should never play with money you can't afford to lose.
  2. Understanding the game and the rules of betting: To avoid making incorrect and costly decisions, it's important to understand the rules of poker and how betting works.
  3. Practice discipline: You must have the discipline to stop if you are on a run of bad luck, and not continue playing impulsively.
  4. Taking regular breaks: Taking regular breaks while playing can help avoid mental and emotional fatigue, which can lead to wrong decisions.

I agree with the risks mentioned. The first rule is always only bet what you can afford to lose. In my case, my only risk is to lose my time playing poker, because there have been a couple of months since my last deposit.

Hi
Everything you described is completely true. In my opinion, most players lose because they are irresponsible. I am a very disciplined player, I always follow bankroll management and I never take risks without a good enough reason. Although poker is a hobby for me, discipline should always come first.
