It is all luck. 25% luck on what pocket cards you are dealt. Another 25% on each the Flop, Turn and River. The non luck part comes from recognizing when your not so great hand is still better than the other guys. Regardless of what cards you play you could be lucky or unlucky when the flop hits. A lucky flop turns into a lucky Turn card for someone else and the River a lucky card that bests the other two and the pocket cards. If you have AA you got lucky. If KcKsQs hits the flop your luck just went down and the guy holding K9o just got lucky. Then on the turn the 10s comes and the guy playing AJo gets lucky. Until the river card 3s hits and the guy playing 76s hits his flush draw and beats them all.
