Actually the op does make some sense, this explains why the last online poker bill that failed ,wanted to stop all online poker for 1 n half year or so...then start up giving all sites an equal shot at getting players.
If that clause was not in it,or was shortened to 6-7 months, the last bill might have passed?
And if the op is really true, this means that an online poker bill will be passed within the next year.,because casinos will want a bill when their software is ready. So they can jump in and take over the online poker scene.
If online players wasnt too mad at them for the demise of stars and tilt and cereus. We will find out..remember this thread!

Like I said above, if you really believe this is the case then how do you explain the Wynn / poker stars and Station Casinos / Full Tilt partnership agreements?

We dont know, but maybe they were not part of a bigger clique.,or maybe they were jumping the gun,so to speak.
Either way, nobody knows, but we will find out eventually.
Sooner or later surely we will elect some people in congress that will pass some sort of online gaming legislation, even if we have to wait until the older generation of hardliner congressmen get to old to serve.

It's not all about taxes, otherwise legalize online poker will fix it. Most republicans think gambling is sin and evil and should be banned forever.
Then can someone explain to me why all these sites move (bodog just recently) moved their domain names to the UK to keep it out of the US 's reach :vroam:

well who knows

i would certainly believe that the huge terrestrial casinos have a major lobbying influence, so anything is possible

if you can indict a ham sammich, how much actual real evidence of any potential wrong doing do you need to seize some domains as part of an "investigation"

My theory is, Steroids! These big sites are obviously using them and HGH. Think about it, a couple years ago you would log into PS and they would have 40K players at tables. Now you log in and see 144K players. This is after no more US players. With growth like that it has to be roids. That's why they shut them down they are the Barry Bonds of online poker and must be stopped. After all isn't stuff like who is using steroids the reason these politicians have their "jobs"?
This ^ makes the most sense of all to me.
Steroids being able to speed up recovery.... definitely explains why Stars is doing okay (I'd guess Fulltilt lost their supplier?)

too busy watching Jerry Springer

I think he actually wanted to get into politics at some point. I'm not sure if he still does. But if he's willing to legalize Internet poker... Jerry! Jerry! Jerry! ;)

If the truth be told, it's just another example of the US government telling the world to do as they say or we'll sue your ass off and lock you up. Then again, it could be "The Donald"

Well in that case, in 20 minutes it's "show time"! :D

Let them see my pale, hairy, skinny white arse bobbin' up and down. Maybe that'll teach them not to look through my window.

LOL! Figures! :) Thanks, I didn't know that. But I think as recently as a couple of years ago, he had aspirations for the national stage. I guess we'll see. Is his show still on the air? He's going to be 80 by the time he gets out of that gig!

Well see he already has something in common with all these old ass politicians, he doesn't know when he is past his prime and should move out of the way for some new blood to step in and fill their shoes

You know its weird. I've heard that the brick and mortar card rooms were hit harder than most of the big sites. People play online for pennies and win a couple bucks then head to the casino to lose real amounts of money.

Also, the real money facebook poker could be ****in huge!!! Think of the fish.
