Trash Talking

I find there is not much point. But then I get trashed talked and I realized how much of an impact it has on my play. Any thoughts on the effects and gains of trash talking

Trash talking has no point. If experienced players talk trash to new players it drives new players away from the game. Driving new players away from the game is bad because new players make the games more profitable while they are learning.

If some one trash talks me I will give it back to them. Especially if they criticize my play in an online freeroll or low stakes game. They are having fun being the tough guy online from somewhere I don't know so why not return the favor.


On the other hand in a live casino I am always polite and never respond to a trash talker. I have seen fights break out and people get ejected from card rooms and that situation is good for no one.

YES! Only talk trash if it doesn't effect your play and you enjoy it. its fun unless it because aggressive especially at the table. online, its all the same... but keep your head in the game and play some poker. talk trash if you like it. Its fun that way too!

i don't trash talk personally. i have player and observer chat off and keep the info tab open. not just in poker but in general, i haven't found too many really great players who talk a lot of trash. just my experience though.

I play trash agains't the trash talkers! works well! Stay silent not worth the possibilities of it going to another level and getting removed from the casino or even catching charges going to jail or just plain getting that azz whooped cause you picked the wrong guy to open that shitty mouth with.. Funny subject to talk about.
