are different strategies but in tournaments you should expand your hand range depending on the type of bets if you play too tight and almost without playing a few hands the blinds will take your stack of chips

The way I see it, I dont have to bluff when I'm playing cash I just wait for good cards and positions and there's always someone that will donate their stack. In tournaments you have to bluff when possible and in position to get the most chips since blinds keep going up and can eat you up quickly if you only wait for premium hands.

Cash could be fun when playing st the casinos or other live games where they are serving food, drinks, etc but you could sit out and take your stack wherever anytime you like.. Tourney the goal is to accumulate everybody else's stack sometimes have to dedicate 8-9 hours or a week of playing to take down !!

I vote for the competition as you can win a lot of money with a good enduring game, it just requires attention and patience.

Cash all the wayy

When it comes to making money cash ganes are always gonna be a step ahead of tournaments simply bc of the time it takes to win and the chances of winning or even placing in big tournaments.

I play mainly tournaments online, but live, I prefer cash...playing at a $1-2 table, I can play for hours, staying within my limited budget.

it depends on the time you have
a tournament takes around 3 to 4 hours
cash game you can leave anytime you want but if your bankroll is too low you may loose it all

Cash games definitely are for the more experimented players, yet it's a good way of earning profits

Tournaments or cash? A dilemma for the ages! But in reality, it's not such a difficult choice. If you are completely new to poker, then I would suggest that you try to play both, to understand what is more suitable for you personally.

If you are familiar with both formats, but can not decide, and are serious about becoming a professional in this game, making it your main source of income, then I would still recommend you to play cash. The income in the cache is stable and relatively predictable, and you will be able to manage your time normally.

But you should understand that good money can be made in any of the formats. Personally, I play both, but the main thing for me is still the tournament.

If you want to lose quickly, then play cash games.

I'm having a hard time feeling like I'm playing poker when I play tournaments vs when I play cash games. I know they are different beasts, but sometimes I find it so hard to apply any strategy to the tournaments because it's just an all-in fest. Because of that, I play fairly tight, but I still end up losing too many chips just trying to see a flop with a good hand (if it doesn't hit, I'm screwed).

Is this normal? Is it because I'm playing lower stakes?

It's not always like this. I've had fun and made a few final tables, but most of the time it seems to be how I described above.

Are there any good resources I should check out in regards to how to play tournaments vs cash games?
I like both. But unfortunately I lose to many times on normal cash games.

I play mostly Mtt's cause i am used to them. I am not confident enough to play cash games.
I tried a few times, went well at the beginning, then lost all in a few consecutive bad beats...
