Is there a huge difference between live and online?

When playing online, other players can't watch your body language or get any visual clues. They can only go by how much and how quickly you bet. I think online poker also differs from live poker in that some online players take advantage of the anonymity that provided by online poker, and they say things to other players that they wouldn't say live.

Playing online I spend too much time at CC :-S and in the casinos I tend to lose focus with my crippling ADD... It's a coin flip either way for me.

So with my first little session I think I like it much more than online. Kinda sucked because I had to wait until midnight on Saturday so the games were the greatest. The first table I played at was super tough 3 people had over a grand and 2 had around 7 or 8. So my 250 didn't have as much weight. Then another table I played at was much more even and I got a much better feel for it but only got to play for maybe an hour and a half cause it was 5am

Live poker is a totally different beast than online poker. Live poker players are far worse than online poker players, but it is somewhat difficult to figure out the best way to exploit all the live player leaks in an optimal way unless you have had significant live experience and/or live training.

Advantages of offline poker is communication and status information of your rivals. You can watch a player is nervous, upset. And this is important in live poker is to control your bankroll.
in online poker more benefits by reference to offline version of the game: a variety of games and tournaments, various limits and much more ...
If you really want to build a career as a poker player, to play online, as you will have the capacity to train once on the set of tables, as well as to acquire great bonuses on deposit, which, undoubtedly, will help dramatically increase your bankroll.

For getting the big picture, you can't beat online poker. At a glance, you see your position (i.e. where the button is), every bet, every players' exact chip holdings, who has folded and who is in. Plus, depending on your settings, your blinds are automatically taken, there is a timer for each player, and an audible signal to remind you when time is running out. Hardly any distractions, and all the info you need at a glance. People can be very distracting, which is as it should be in live poker, because you have to devote a lot of your attention to sizing them up and looking for tells. And off in the distance, there is often the sound of slots and people cheering some big throw of the dice. I find it all distracting.

I think that there is a difference , because there are no problems with the internet, and you will not lose much of the stack because of this

Well in live poker you get more reads on people and online poker i believe you need to pay more attention to bets and play the board more. Its also a lot easier to check hand history online which can help.

I think they are completely different games

live - usually has higher rake, less hands per hr, more focus on tells, difficult to multitable, have to tip, have to get to the casino

online, -usually a lower rake, more hands per hr, less tells, easy to multitable, dont have to tip, dont have to travel

overall i think live players are not usually as good and you can do things like varying your bet size to cater to the fish

So after 2 live sessions I'm not sure how I feel about it. I did terrible both times and it almost like I'm no where near being able to play in a casino. First time was on my birthday ended up at the casino around 1am which sucked. Only table open was a 1/3nl 100 min 500max (I believe) well there was 2 +1k stacks and a few over 500. Played super tight for about an hour and only played maybe 3 or 4 hands. New guy sat down and the older drunk guy whom I was chatting with told me about him being very LaG. Next hand I was on the button and got KK. Got raised 15 to new guy who came over with a 50 reraise. Only had aound 160ish left so I pushed when it came to me. Took him a few minutes and decides to call. Turns over A10, I lead on the flop and turns an A river a Q. Now was this a terrible play on my part of just a bad run?

Yes, you can play naked online. Unless you are playing strip poker live.

Online players play way looser than live players in my opinion. So u have to adjust your style of play
