although team full tilt has a team of better poker players how come pokerstars is still more popular than full tilt poker wouldn't you think that since pokerstars is more popular they would have a better array of poker players?

There are all sorts of answers to that question - suffice it to say that sponsored pros are just one aspect of any site's marketing and promotions.

In my opinion, i guess the best team is the full tilt team, with the company of ivey with some bracelets, allen cuningham, gus hansen, jenifer harman, cris ferguson, the team of poker stars have just some good players :)

In a one off game any of the pros are capable of winning. Over a long preiod of games I think FT would sneak ahead but I really do not think there would be much in it.

This question is too vague! Online or live? Tourney format or cash game? Yes FT does have the best array of well-known names, but just because you don't know who they are does not mean they don't know what there doing. I think If its any type of online play PS wins. The reason being: The PS team gets to play against so many more players, and better ones too. I strongly believe that the general player population of PS beats FT by far any day of the week!!! The nosebleed games on FT have a very small player pool compared to PS and the big names for the most part just pass the same money back and forth most of the time. The PS team on the other hand have a much more populated pool that can afford these stakes and they get alot more practice with "random" online players. It's like practice squads for NFL teams, better practice squads means your starters get better looks, and better work, therefore get more out of there practices. SAME THEORY!! I'll go ahead and throw him out there, there is ALOT of Chris Moneymaker type players on PS. Knock him if you want, it's proven that he can't really hang with these big names in a live setting, but I'm willing to bet he cleans out alot of ppl one step down! PS is full of Moneymaker-level talent. Thats why they win in any type of online setting. That being said, If we take the top ten from both in a High Stakes Poker type setting I think the bottom half of the PS team gets cleaned out! LOL.

Fulltilt hands down.

With a few exceptions the only thing the PS team has done is go deep in the ME.
There obvs. all great players but i doubt alot of them would sit with PA,Ivey ect at rail heven if they played on fulltilt.

This +1 Coulndt have said it better so ill just quote it

Full Tilt by far.

Phil ivey, Allen Cuningham, Chris Ferguson, jennifer harman... come on!

Brenes and Negreanu are the only in ps that come close to the category of this players

I guess bluff Magazine is incorrect then because for 2009 they have Fulltilt Poker down as 1st in Poker Software.

^^ IN MTT play it's the same players who are playing on both of the sites at the upper levels and top of rankings. (and obviously none of the 'TeamFulltilt' or "TeamPokerstars" are in the running).

I wonder what screenames the TeamPokerstars' players are playing on Fulltilt as? Must suck for them to not be able to play the $1kMonday.

sidenote.... I was talking with a member of TeamUltimateBet at a live tournament and they told me that they regularly play in the MTTs on Fulltilt but didn't want to reveal their screename. Maybe Daniel Negreanu really is that guy you see in the micro MTTs.... 'DanielNegreanu4'... or was that DanielNegreanu736 (I forget?)

If you judge yourself Room, then I like FullTilt and on the interface and opponents and tournaments at pokerstars too miserable interface. And now, according to who would win from their team, this is a big issue, and there and there are deserving players. I would like to see such a confrontation.

Ahem, if they're just passing the money around, Gus needs to stop passing his money so much. Yuck. It's ugly, regular bloodbaths at the top.

Okay so you're only as strong as your weakest link. Following that cliche, pick the weakest link from each team and decide who's the strongest weakling.

On a side note, UltimateBet gets left out of a lot of polls. I'm not inside the poll makers heads so I can't say why exactly, but if I had to speculate I'd say it's based on popularity + the whole super-user scandal.

A lot of people can't stand Phil Hellmuth, and still others loathe Annie Duke. With Phil it seems to be because of his image and how he berates other players. I can't actually hate him for that cuz most of the time he's right. The players or situations in question do suck. With Annie the opinions are a bit more varied. The most funny/interesting excuse I've found for hating her is her "shrill voice". I wouldn't exactly call her tones dulcet but I wouldn't call them shrill either.

What's with the push for Team UltimateBet though? Purely a mega-fan of Phil Hellmuth or is there something more?

well the thing about team ultimatebet is that they do not have many poker players representing them that is why i left them out who else did ultimate bet sign? The only poker players i can think of that is signed by ultimatebet is phil helmuth (which i think is a mistake on their part) and Annie Duke which isn't very popular with poker players anyways.

I don't think he's Negreanu.

From what it looks like, PokerStars like to pick up the "Flavors of the Week".. they picked up a lot of 1 bracelet winners, and recent Main Event winners. They also have Dennis Phillips and Ivan Demidov on their team.

Now, not trying to take anything away from them (Dennis Phillips quickly rising up to be one of my favorite poker players now), but it just seems that PS just tries to pick up the poker players that just start to make a name for themselves (with some exceptions), and Full Tilt has more vets.

So am I the only one getting the feeling that Daniel's totally carrying Team Poker Stars? Such a little guy to have to lug around Greg Raymer.

Thanks for putting that image in my head, lol.

The problem with team Pokerstars is that a majority of their pros are just recent wsop champions or players that have finished well. Full Tilt has a lot more established pros.

This thread has made me think::: wouldn't it be cool if they had a tournament where all of the [well-known]pros from each site had a tournament and the site with the best average finish would be the winner..
And 1st place would get some money for the site or something..

I know i would watch it, just an idea.

Durrrr is a self-created sideshow phenom for Tilt imo. There's nothing wrong with that but he's obviously not a contracted pro.

Heads-up you say? Flip a coin and you've got your answer.

That's not necessarily the case - Full Tilt pursues that strategy and has patches on a lot of those kind of players too. It's just that the Stars-sponsored ones have had better results lately. But, for example, Jerry Yang was wearing a Full Tilt logo when he won the 2007 Main Event.

It's fair to say they've got a lot more of the established big names signed than any other site though.
