Thoughts/Experiences ???
I was playing at a Vegas Casino 1-3 No Limit table last week.
Won't mention the casino's name because it is still being investigated.
I was involved in an all in hand with only 1 other caller in the hand. Pot size was north of $1000ish
I pushed All in and after the call I flipped my cards over to expose my winning hand, while still holding them in my hand, I showed the table and the dealer (or so I thought) my king high flush and placed them on the table face up. While the cards were being placed on the table I think and this is the big *I THINK* the dealer may have made a sudden gesture and while collecting the chips and other cards in the muck something moved that may have caused 1 of my cards to flip back over face down. It happened so fast that when the card flipped over I was in disbelief of what happened.
The dealer froze very quickly after realizing what had happened and I immediately called the floor to try and ask them to retrieve the card or see a video of the action to see what the hell just happened. They were quick to rule the hand as mucked. Even tho my card was easily distinguishable from the rest of the muck, + my king was laying on the table face up.
I usually place my cards face up in a clock wise motion as to get them closer to the dealer. They may slide a little bit but I believe the trajectory of other cards that were being moved around or the dealers hands caused my card to flip over.
I also understand the whole concept of protecting your cards , but I feel I wasn't out of the wrong for the way I presented my cards after the action had ended , even more so with my gloating action of showing the table my cards before they were put on the table. I know horrible etiquette but it was ok for the table I was playing at.
I asked to see the video surveillance and was told that they didn't have video camera's in this particular casino which is a huge lie and an insult to me as a patron of this casino.
Gaming is currently pulling the footage of what had happened and are doing an investigation. I know they'll be able to tell what my hand was from the video camera's because the cards were face up for a while before this happened.
