Your first line says it all
"don't want any of your gameplay tips, I dont need them"?

And you have been playing a year?

I have been playing for over 8 and I still need help
with my game, and all the best pokers in the world admit
they never stop learning and neither should you

I agree that you will never learn to play poker on play
tables, you will only ever get into bad habits

as for bankroll management a quick rule of thumb is
not to play with more than 5% of your bankroll at
any one time, i.e if your BR is 100 then your maximum
buy in should be no more than $5, you might think this
is too conservative but it should ensure you never go
broke, I havent deposited for over 5 years now using
this system

anyhow good luck to you on the tables from
a fellow scouser :shakehand

Why?

There is absolutely no point in playing poker with play money unless you want to practice (and even then, it's an inaccurate appraisal of the nature of the game). I don't want to quit, I enjoy the game and I'm a very tight agressive player, I've made money in the past, I've just got carried away - hence I just need to know how to roll with the poker variance because when I win money - I don't feel true ownership (Not money I staked, it's winnings) I then make bad calls because I'm more pre-disposed to call bluff, then chase the "loss". That's what it is. Viktor Blom lost about as much as me before he hit it right.

Also note, about 40% of those losses were on side games against the house such as blackjack.

I've set deposit limits on UB of £80 a MONTH now, I can't break the bank as I once did, and that's the only decent site I've not self excluded from.
Your focus needs to be on TAG, but mostly on "not losing" ... the latter is by far more important and will likely change your results and a positive ROI.

Mate, if you don't lose, you are much more likely to be ITM in MTTs and SnGs AND end up with a + ROI in Ring Games ... think about this concept and it will make a major difference in your outcome!

I'd be interested in your future results with this concept seriously taken.

Good luck, Wally :)

One thing you can consider if you have the self patience is to try limit poker at stakes you feel comfortable. Play upto 0.10/0.20 cents, you will not tend to lose too much of your bankroll during bad days, maybe just 5 or 10 dollars up or down. Then you can gradually try to build your bankroll from there. Dont worry ive had a few losses in the beginning too after that i switched from no limit to limit poker and stopped playing limit poker on the $3/$6 tables which can kill your bankroll if u run bad. Good luck.

all good advice here - in addition i say keep playing better days are coming :) we've all had bad days but you need to keep practicing to order to succeed in anything. bad days in poker are like water - let em roll off your back and continue to gain prowess in your game by playing as often as you can .

good luck!

If you want to bulid a bankroll for poker, dont delve into and stake it on the casino games because you may win a couple of dollars and then think your great, but ull keep playing and go busto. to me £100 on a hand of balackjack out of your poker bankroll is crazy, you'll never be able to move up the limits if your winning money then spruning it on the casino games. stick to poker if your as good as you say you are you should have no problem
