This was my first hand of the game so i didn't have reads on the villains although the table had a pretty high VPIP. I decided to try playing a bit more aggressive than usual when I have a piece of the flop like TP or possibly MPTK since I often insta fold my hands in the blinds which might have been a leak in my win rate. This is something new I am experimenting so please tell me if this was a decent or standard play or if this is just spew and something I should stop.
I felt my hand was good on the flop but not great since someone could limp in with 33 or 66 for a set. I had TPGK so I decided to raise to see where I was and hopefully take down the pot there and was not pleased by the 2 callers.
The turn added outs to a draw but I did not think people would play 74, maybe 97 so I still felt ok with my hand so I raised again.
The river was a brick imo. Doubt anyone would call all that down with 33 and 97 and 74 would already have me beat as well as TP with a better kicker. I felt I still had showdown equity so I decided to check to get a cheap showdown. The river bet was small and I think villain could do this is a missed draw to take down the pot and I was 1 to 6 where my TP still might be good. What do you guys think of this hand?
