I'm aware that poker tracker and others are good tools for improving your decision making but they are not yet available for Macintosh and not wanting to buy a new machine just to play poker on, I am trying to roll my own tracking system. I'd like to find some definitive guidelines for the calculations for the various stats (vpip pfr agression etc).
Most of the sources are rather vague about how to account for various actions. For example vpip is defined as "voluntarily put money in pot" in some sources and "voluntarily put money in pot preflop" in others. How do you count a call and then another call or raise preflop in the same hand? Is that 1 or 2 vpip count for that hand?
Any suggestions would be appreciated.
