ugh, slow rolling. It seems to be way more common online than at live games, probably because people are more or less "anonymous" behind the animations. I usually make a note if someone slow plays, then I'll do it right back to them at some later time. Either way, I usually swear and then yell out loud while the girlfriend stares off with this this "Probably best to keep small talk to a minimum tonight" look.

Check the Casino rules. If you declare a pare and you have quads .. too bad you have what you declared a pair.

Slow rolls are like the unwritten rules of baseball. It's not technically illegal, just dirty and other players will hate you for it and go head hunting when given the chance.

I am not pretty sure about that, a lot of players like slowrollers - they give opponents chances to play until the river and then opp decide - whether to call/raise or not

This is slow playing different from slow rolling.

About a year and a half ago I was playing in a full tilt free roll. I was making alot of hands and playing them agressivly thus winning lots without showdown then in the bubble I run a decent sized semi bluff against a tight player and reach showdown. Seeing the vlyff someone announces in chat that I'm a big bluffer and suddenly the table assumes all my non showdowns were bluffs, they think I'm a maniac. Fine with me since I was actually being tight lol. Then in a hand with three big stacks the btn raises the SB puts in a 3 bet and me in the BB puts in a big 4bet shove with my KK. Because of my image I look like I'm full of it. Btn folds and SB turns his avatars face to angry then proceeds to run his time bank all the way to the end before calling with AA

That was actually pretty amusing. The table goes on at that point about how much of a cooler it was :p

Now, is it slow rolling if you declare two pair... of the same pair? Two pair of jacks is a pretty strong hand.

'slow fold' - where you muck your cards one at a time.

I think slow rolling is permissible at your home games where everyone knows each other. It's part of the banter. I might do it to a close friend but never to someone I don't know and/or has a history of GBH.

No, it's not permissable. It's not cute, it's a dick move. Slowrollers should be liable to a court of law.

I'd slow roll OP on the simple fact that it tilts him so much.

I agree with what wagon596 said! I have had it done a few times to me and wagon is right, it just shows no class!
For anybody who truly loves this game of poker I believe there has got be a certain amount of respect for the game and your opponents!

Keep the integrity in the game and just stay classy!

Calling stations love to slowplay big hands. They check it down to the river when they overbet the pot or shove all-in.

always just flip your cards and let the dealer declare the winner-unreal how many times people misread their hands. At the casino I go to, the dealers will just say 'show me a winner' in the interest of time, and not worry too much about who called.

oh but don't trust the dealer, don't be afraid to go 'whoa! hold on' if you think yours was best.(but do it fast, they are paid to max out the hands per hour, once your cards are in the muck, you are usually scrood.)

I don't think so, I only consider it a slowroll if a player tank calls a shove with the nuts.
