Online poker IMO is poker but you are not PLAYING poker. You are just calculating numbers and getting small reads off pixels.

I play online poker everyday for about 3-4 hours cash game.
I play live poker tourney and cash every weekend. (Mainly cash)

I see the difference between a online Player and a live player. I am a lot better at live poker. I get good reads and I can control the pot and aggression more and gain more information live.
I quit online poker because it has too many cons vs live.
Also the feeling of actually playing live is so much more than sitting in a cash game online.

Also online is a software... It is a system designed to portray poker in a illusion of pixels.

Live poker is REAL poker. You see the deck being shuffled and everything is real and legit. Everything is shown infront of you. Instead online you have to trust the developers to have a unflawed system that portrays poker.

Also the wide variety of not knowing anything about anyone apart from a display picture is pretty useless to me.
Chat at the table and watching someone's emotion lets me strive at the table. Instead I'm left to guess online.

That's my opinion and I'm quitting online and playing live only for the true poker.

I ineressante this question because it make me ever since I stopped going in the church meetings by online poker account think is hindering me

Well then you're obviously doing something wrong.

Since when is online poker just about calculating numbers & trying to get small reads off pixels? LOL What about "playing poker" ?

Question for people responding in this thread....

IF Vinceayy were WINNING regularly while playing Online Poker, do you think he'd feel the same way about it?

Do whatever pleases you .
If you don't want to keep on playing online , then stop , play only live ( which I would love to try sometime ) .
But if I were you I would combine both .
It's not as bad the online poker as you describe it .
The countless tournaments which are conducted in a great speed , the many fishes , the great prizes ,micro, medium large cash stakes, the many other unique characteristics compared to live poker .
Keep playing for fun . Take tips from the threads and strategic posts of this site of how to become a better player on online poker , use better a HUD programm with the help of a veteran poker player (I look forward to it as well :D ).
Don't feel discouraged/dejected because of some bad luck or downswing .Badbeats happens to all of us .
Don't feel sad if you keep losing to some players again and again and again .They are better than you ,this happens in live poker as well.
Online poker is not rigged , RNG software is fine and is realistic nowadays ,it has nothing less compares to live poker .

Think again .:)
Your friend - POTRIPPER

:D "see" :D you on the tables

In online poker you can win quickly, and play quickly. It depends on how well we can play. For me it is better to play in live poker, the game and the opponents have more information, in online poker, this information is hidden behind the nickname.

Good luck to you for playing live poker, but feel free to playing online again in future if you change your mind.
Because technolgy is spread rapidly, people nowadays choose to earn some money without leaving their home.

If live works for you, I'm happy for you. Some people enjoy the social aspect of sitting at a table with real people, real cards, and real chips.

Me personally, live poker is far too slow for me. I'm an action junky. I want to play 6+ tables 6-max NLHE at the comfort of my own home in my office. And crush the nits I shall!!!!

I'll agree about there being more information when playing live. You can watch for those tells, but don't forget you're being watched as well. As for live being more trustworthy than live, I'm not so sure. There's been cases of crooked dealers and collusion among the players in live games. I think most poker rooms both live and online are under enough scrutiny that rigged games are not an issue.

Online poker is mostly very dull but can be thrilling to win that 300+ pot. I tried bovada a few 25 dollar buy ins lost 3 out of 4 times and the 4th made 125 bucks waited weeks for some weird check from china. To me that's where live shines it's fun, social and rewarding in all aspects of life. The more poker I play the better I get at people skills plus in live I cash out in minutes at the desk and go home with tax free cash.

Live poker

I really don't like online poker. Don't trust it on many levels. But.... it's hard to get to live games from where I live. I look for freerolls to build a bankroll, but I quickly lose whatever I win. In general it is a waste of my time, but I can't stop. Somebody please help!

They are two different games, that have have shared qualities. But that math matters and it can be valuable if you are serious about poker to practice it. If you are frustrated about losses, you should find stakes and games where you can learn to manage your emotions (I am being absolutely sincere in this). The best players manage losses so well and that is valuable in poker and can keep you from tilting. Good luck man! Sorry to hear you're quitting online!
