Just a bit of a trivial question, when you bet 'pot', are there different rules as to what constitutes the pot preflop and postflop?

On fulltilt when I click the 'pot' button things get a bit weird.

Preflop:
90 in pot - pot button gives me 210
120 in pot - pot button 280

Postflop: a pot bet is just the pot

Cheers.

Betting the pot is exactly that, but it includes calling any previous bets made that round.

Example post flop pot=20

2 way pot:
Scenario 1: You are first to act betting pot = 20 (total pot is now 40)

Scenario 2: You are 2nd to act villain bets 5, You need to call 5 then bet pot of 30 (you need to put 35 in to bet pot) (total pot is now 60)

Scenario 3: you are 2nd to act Villain checks, betting pot = 20 (total pot is now 40)

3way pot:
Scenario 4: You are last to act, Villain 1 bets 10, Villain2 calls, to bet pot you need to call then bet the total so 20+10+10+10= 50. So you need to call 10 and raise 50 ( you need to put 60 in to bet pot) (total pot is now 100)

Hope that helps

Edit to add:
And preflop you need to consider the small blind and big blind as a bet and a raise for pot calculation in a 3+ way pot

I wish FT would remove the bet pot button.

Lifesaver bigjoker. God I never thought pot betting would get so complicated.

I agree they should just kill the pot button. People pot mash like rabbits on speed these days.
