Hello friends!
I have prepared for you a rather interesting article about poker on movie screens.
Often the audience in the movies does not show poker in the form in which it actually is. For those who are not familiar with this game, what is happening on the screen seems normal. I think you will understand me. Movie poker for you will never be the same.

#1 In poker, bluffing is present in almost every hand

If the protagonist of the film plays poker, it doesn't matter what pocket cards he has. What for? All you have to do is maximize your bet higher, and the opponent will fold any combination. Straight or flush - it doesn't matter anymore.
When watching movies, get ready for the fact that everything that happens on the screen more often just an exaggeration. After all, this is how you can make the scene bright and memorable.

#2 In any poker hand, the player holds the cards in his hands, almost open

When a player receives pocket cards, it is not at all necessary to hide them from opponents.
Nobody wants to know what's in your hands. Honesty is paramount here. You can put the cards face up, no one will pay attention to them - everyone is busy. Joke.
See how the players of popular series or movies watch their cards. They don't try to do it covertly, they just pick them up and take them in hand. over the table)

#3 I am the main character of the movie. None of my All-In will lose.

In order for the viewer to watch the film in one breath, the main character of the plot can go for broke. Will he lose? Yes if it's a start movie, and he has a lot to lose. What if it's an important game? Well, of course not. How is he can lose this hand. Here even [2][3] will win.

#4 Royal Flush drops more often than One Pair

Have you ever seen such a combination as One Pair? I have looked a lot films, but whether it falls out at all - I do not know. But Royal Flush will definitely fall out. Well, apparently the writers have their own take on poker. But I can say that I play poker for almost a year and have never been able to collect Royal Flush. I even know professional players who have collected it only a few times in their entire career)

I would also like to end with the James Bond film Casino Royale.
I just rewatched it recently. The case comes to an end and the two main characters play against each other. James Bond wins all chips with a straight flush. All Well, if you watch the movie in the original. But despite the fact that I am Ukrainian - my native language is Russian. And this means that I watch films in Russian. The croupier takes Bond's pocket cards and announces a combination - a royal flush. How could have made such a mistake - it's hard to say.

Let me know if you liked my article. If you are interested in such posts, I will continue to publish them)

its always the same, if a lawyer watches a movie about laws, a chess player a film about chess etc. etc. - its almost always facepalm :)
the movie makers never hire an expert, I dont understand it

Of course, I also have a few favorite poker movies.
Some interesting movies that I can recommend to you. "Rounders", "The Cincinnati Kid", "Molly's Game" - all these films are interesting and worth attention.
