I guess there are some people that just are very unobservant or don't like to read....

as many have stated, you can and always have been able to see mucked hands as long as you were one of the players dealt into the hand.

I like the new feature because it replays the actual betting and lets you see who did what in the hand, much quicker than trying to read through the text and figure out the pot, position, etc....

I had no idea that you could look and see all hole cards....and I have to say...I DON'T LIKE IT AT ALL! Can u imagine playing a cash game and having the dealer show all players cards after completion of a hand?
Yeah. Can you imagine it being a rule of poker for ages that can be done upon request at anytime, live or online? Imagine that! An actual rule! The truth is truly stranger than fiction.

For everyone not familiar with the basic rules of poker, here they are:

Poker Rules - Robert's Rules of Poker Version 10

(The muck rules are in Chapter 3 - "General Rules of Poker" in the "Dead Hands" section. )

Why would this be a bad thing? The old HH shows what villian had, even if they mucked the hand, this does the same thing. +rep for Stars

i think the feature is a bad thing, its a reason you can muck your hands that doesent win a showdown and thats because you dont want to give your opponent information on how u play the different hands. why do we have a rule that says you can muck your hand, if the opponent still can see what you had?? its ridiculous!

And to re-repeat what's already been said, you've always been able to see the mucked cards at Stars. All you had to do was look in the hand history.

Ummm, playing live cash you usually do see the players hands at showdown.... if they hope to stake claim to the pot.

I may be wrong about this, but I believe that on Full Tilt they won't show your hole cards if you have auto muck chosen. I don't have auto muck turned on, so I'm not absolutely positive.

No, they still show your hole cards.

wow, this is a really nice upgrade. The trpe in the older pop up box was so small it was difficult to read. They also give you the ability to replay the hand which is also cool. Nice job pokerstars.

This thread is hilarious.

You have ALWAYS been able to see any hole cards that made it to showdown, regardless of if they were mucked or not. They are right there in the hand histories and most tracking software/huds show them on the table automatically. Pokerstars, fulltilt..most other sites.

All this has been said already but guess what? If you go walk into a live casino, you get to showdown, you show your hand and your oppenent says "you win" and mucks. you are legally allowed to ask the dealer to show his hole cards. This isn't "cheating", this isn't unusual, this isn't "new" and it's the same way live!

I actually hate this update cause I enjoyed having all these ignorant players (who usually suck) not realizing that such valuable information is and always has been right there for the taking. Plus it's fun telling the donkey who tried to bluff you out with 5 high what he had when he claims "i got lucky" and "beat his KK" (why is it always KK?)

Of course..most people who were too ignorant to realize that info is there are probably too ignorant to make much use of it in a more obvious form, so probably won't matter.

I agree with everything you said except the bolded statement above. It's actually VERY unusual for someone to ask to see mucked SD cards at a live game. It's certainly well within their rights and the rules do allow it, but it is considered bad etiquette to do so.

Yeah ok you are right, "unusual" was a poor choice of words. It is somewhat unusual to actually see somebody do it live (I have seen people do it, but not often). But it is perfectly legal.

Some people do consider it bad etiquette to do so or at least to do so often.. I actually personally think this stems from the fact that so many people don't understand it's legal, and get upset about it when someone actually does ask cause they think it's not allowed and just don't understand and get confused.

My main point still stands though...I don't have too much sympathy for ignorance.

it is terrible etiquette to demand to see someones mucked hand. i saw it on tv once in a pro game and i thought gus hansen was gonna lose his mind. rode that guy the rest of the game. everyone was rude to him

I'm not a copyright expert or even know what I'm talking about most of the time. lol :)
But, you would think Full tilt would have some kind of infringement case since they basically pioneered the same exact thing (except for the "replay button") years ago. Ideas on that?

There's no option on the poll for neutrality. I would assume people already using PaHud, and other programs displaying hole cards after showdown could care less.
